Description This is just a picture of my finished werewolf gloves from this costume [link] but without the fur-coat. These gloves are also the ones that I'll be adding to the actual movie costume.
(Urgh, I look so dorky and greasy in this photo...-_-)

I am very proud of these gloves to say they have very limited grasping capabilities (e.g. they can't pick up a glass with one glove, can't turn round door-knobs, etc); the claws are made from platic sculpy and painted silver with a shiny gloss finish (yep, silver claws for a werewolf, how ironic lol) and the paw-pads are made out of fake-leather then stuffed with toy-fluff. The gloves are all HAND-SEWN, that's right they're sewn by HAND, NOT by machine (since I don't have a machine nor do I know how to use one anyway).

I shall also start making more gloves like this on comission for a fair price. If anyone is interested in a pair of gloves like these for their costumes; just send me a note.

All I really need is paws, tail, feet

Farumir In reply to TheWerewolfPrince [2011-10-31 12:18:49 +0000 UTC]

I makes tails and paws on commission and for a price anybody with a job and or very generous parents can afford; and I offer discount for students if you're in the UK (and have proof that you are a student of course). I work on a budget not a fixed price; just make me an offer and I'll work for the best price for both of us.

The tail's easy to make and the gloves I make are pretty durable; because as seen in the work-in-progress photos [link] I make the claws into rings that you wear on the inside of the gloves so that the claws are secure, move when your fingers do for a more realistic effect, don't wobble around like most furry/halloween gloves' claws do, and are less likely to snap or break away from the glove (it makes it easier to repair if the claws do ever seperate from the gloves from extreme rough play). The only catch about the gloves is that it is very hard to pick certain stuff up (e.g. cup-handles, pens/pencils, spoons/forks, etc) with just one hand and very had to turn rounded door-knobs due to the paw-pads and claws getting in the way a bit, but then again no glove ever has total grasping-power; all gloves have trouble grabbing some things.

please make me an offer because I dont want to ask for a price that you disaprove on

Farumir In reply to TheWerewolfPrince [2011-11-02 11:21:53 +0000 UTC]

I can't really say that because it would depend on what kind of gloves you want; fur or a different material like fake-leather or rubber/spandex? With claws or without claws? If with claws, Glow in the dark paint or metallic paint or no paint at all? stripes or spots or just all one color? long fur or short fur? five fingers or four fingers or less/more? With paw-pads or without paw-pads? with arm-sleeves like mine or without arm-sleeves? Any birth-marks or scars? etc. And naturally I'd have to charge extra for add-ons like jewelry, watches, chains/hand-cuffs, fake-leather gaunlets (I haven't made those yet but after seeing bitter lake I want to try making some) or feathers.

But I will say that I charge less for people who live in the UK where I am, since postage overseas is quite pricey as I learned myself being a regular buyer from the US, and don't forget the difference in value between the British Pound and the US dollar.
It's okay, don't be afraid to offer me your best price, just don't go over-board if you think you can't afford much; I won't bite your head off (it's not a full moon tonight lol). ^_^

I gave you a link to her price estimator already so use it, she won't answer you if you're asking about price because the price estimator on her site answers the question for you. Here it is again [link] but don't bother asking about price coz' she'll just give you this same link. And trust me, her stuff is very expensive, I really want to buy from her myself but she's way out of my budget (might go to her if the guy who's making my mask can't do it or if she learns how to give her masks cable-snarl features which is what I'm after) and her waiting list is as long as the great wall of china; there's no way you'll get a pair a of gloves from her made until summer 2012 let alone a full costume.

You can buy the DVD, it's much better to watch the full movie than just the trailer.
you can get it from furplanet.com (for US customers) [link]
or you can get it from blackpaw.de where I bought mine from (for UK/European customers) [link]

Although I wouldn't call the furries, they are far too realistic and professionally made to be dubbed a cartoon character like what a furry is. These costumes fall in the anthro category, but anthros and furries always share the same conventions since they are both animal-costume genres.

I work on budget, I don't have a fixed price because if say a buyer's from america; I'd have to think of a price that is both affordable for the buyer and also a good payment for me (otherwise either the buyer would be paying too much or I would not earn back enough money to make my work worth it). British pounds are roughly half the amount of the dollar, so as an example; $100 is only £50 here. However the Dollar's rate on the market keeps changing every day, going up and down in price, so predicting the currency exchange is tricky...I always buy things from the US on days when the dollars are worth less pounds so that I'm not spending as much, so if an american wants to buy from england the best thing to do is to buy on a day when the dollars are worth more pounds so that they don't have to pay out as much either.

The lowest I'll go for fur-gloves is £100 for US buyers (just £70 if its for someone in england though since postage and packaging locally is not expensive), because I also have to pay for postage and packaging which especially isn't cheap when sending it abroad. However for latex/rubber-skin gloves without fur and either painted or unpainted I'll go as low as £70 or even £65 since they're easier and less costly for me to make and not as bulky so postage and packaging won't be as expensive either (if the parcel's too heavy they usually charge you, you see) plus with latex/rubber gloves you can add fur and or paint yourself which is fun to do. Of course I'll have to charge a tiny bit extra if you want any accessories or extras like jewelry, feathers, special paw-pads (e.g paw-pads made out of PVC or real leather), etc. Claws are free and if you get fur-gloves I'll toss in some fur-scraps just in case you ever damage the gloves and need to repare them.

Oh and because I'm nice and I know from personal experience how tough it is to save up on money; I'll offer student discount for College or university students with NUS cards or whatever's the name of the american student-discount card (but I ain't stupid, I'll need proof that buyers are real students; so they'd have to give me 100% real proof like a photo of their NUS card or something, that they are real students and that they're not trying to pull a fast one on me just to save a bit of cash). ^^

and how long will it take for you to make a pair of gloves or costume?

I don't think the quality is bad, I mean I use my own DSI XL for photo's and the quality is horrible if I shake it a little. I much rather have your camera.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Farumir In reply to Teninbras [2011-04-13 21:40:22 +0000 UTC]

I'll work on a budget. Depending on how long you want the fur and how long you want the glove's sleeves to be, I'll charge a bit more. But I won't charge much, just enough to make a nice amount for the work. So basically you offer me a price you're willing to pay and I'll take which ever price is the best for both of us.
However I can't be too cheap because sadly the dollar isn't worth much in pounds e.g. $10 is around £5-£3 here, then you have the postage and packaging over seas which is definitely expensive for us Brits to pay for; my point is that if I charge too less...then I'm really not getting my work's worth of money back, not to mention my first set of gloves have taken me since 2009 (but only coz' I was in the middle of college at the time and had a job at the mall back then so I was really busy, plus I didn't really have a set deadline for my own gloves so I took it easy when making them. It'd probably take me 6-8 months if I worked for a deadline, but it'd depend on what the gloves would feature like claws and spots and stuff). So for total perfection I would have to not only work at a quick-pace for a customer (but not madly rushing either) but I'd have to pay for all the materials to make the gloves too so it's quite a delicate and stressful process for me and for any costume-maker (hence why custom-costume producers on DA often charge a high price when dealing with customers from over-seas).

Oh no my camera's awesome, I meant the sunlight got in the way and my brother-in-law was stood in a bad spot for photo-taking. Nothing wrong with my camera.

Teninbras In reply to Farumir [2011-04-13 21:46:04 +0000 UTC]

Well how cheap will you go? I'm just curios I can't do these commisions just I want to know how much your going to at least charge in the very least, how much you will call too cheap.

Oh alright lol I thought you called your camera bad XD what type of camera is it?

Farumir In reply to Teninbras [2011-04-13 22:14:23 +0000 UTC]

I can't really say. But you tell me; how much would you be willing to pay? Must always ask the customer first, otherwise you can put them off.

It's a Samsung, but it actually tells you in the little bar at the side of a deviation. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Teninbras In reply to Farumir [2011-04-13 22:19:14 +0000 UTC]

Per say I would give you 50$ is as low as I would pay, and 120$ highest or so, is that too little?

I don't see it, did you remove that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Farumir In reply to Teninbras [2011-04-13 23:06:40 +0000 UTC]

around $55-$61 is fine, that covers postage and packaging too I think.

DA uploads the type of camera automatically so I can't remove it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Teninbras In reply to Farumir [2011-04-14 02:20:33 +0000 UTC]

Hmm ok well with 55$ what can you make? the costume itself or just the paws?

I don't see it. if its too the side of the devitation I really don't see it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Farumir In reply to Teninbras [2011-04-14 11:48:43 +0000 UTC]

Not the costume for that price! You crazy?! XP All full costumes from any DA artists are well over $700 easily!

The PAWS, the PAWS would be $55; but if you wanted extras like up-to-shoulder sleeves, painted on/sewn on patterns, attached jewelry, or other accessories I would have to charge extra.

Well it's there, underneath where the 'share deviation' tool bar is.

this 16th actually.

well what about different style gloves? like would you be able to make freddy kruegers gloves per say?

I see in the details it says a few things, but I'm guessing the resolution is what says the camera?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Farumir In reply to Teninbras [2011-04-14 23:12:53 +0000 UTC]

Don't be dumb, you can't put discount on costumes. NO costume from anybody on DA will EVER be made for only $55 and that's final. >_<

What's the point when you can buy freddie krueger gloves anywhere? I got one for last halloween. And how can I make those exactly anyway? They're not furry and making metal sculptures is both difficult and dangerous, especially if you don't have the experience, and you need special equipment for making anything out of metal anyway.

Can't remember the resolution off the top of my head. I know it's over 800 pixels though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Teninbras In reply to Farumir [2011-04-15 00:44:00 +0000 UTC]

I meant the gloves not the costume, I was asking if there was a glove discount.

I want real ones with real knifes, I've tried to buy them but there always off some internet site. I can't buy online due to my father.

Hmm ok, well it says much higher lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Farumir In reply to Teninbras [2011-04-15 15:00:36 +0000 UTC]

No not on the gloves either, that's the point of me saying that I can't go any lower than $50 because then I wouldn't be getting my money's worth back for the hard work and cost of all the materials. If it was seriously that easy then I wouldn't be having to pay $500 for the mask I want, would I? You have to remember how many british pounds the dollar is actually worth and how much money I have to spend on the materials like fur and paint and plastic and stuff. No offense, but the american dollar is very cheap in England compared to other currencies.

Oh you mean you want the movie replica of the glove? Well good luck on that because they don't sell them in stores anymore (they did three years ago in a Castleford goth-shop once, but you had to be over 18 or 21 to purchase it) and they're about £299 which is roughly $598, maybe more.

Really? Hmm, guess I underestimated my own camera.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Teninbras In reply to Farumir [2011-04-15 21:23:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh well I was just asking, I wasn't seriously going to ask for a discount, just on curiosity.

The movie replica still sells actually, however its over the internet- I have a friend who's trying to buy me one sometime, however it may take longer then a few months, as he is short on money. I don't really believe he's going to get it cause he's not all there. If you know what I mean.

lol indeed you did XD
