The key to doing "virtual 3d model kitbashing" is to know how to "parent" a model to another target. Usually it could be to a another models "rib'. "Rib" being the recognized core by the computer for the model in question.... or to the very part of the figure such as to a hand, upper arm, etc, or to the "pelvis"(hips) like for a hand weapon.
