Cable. From X-Force. I did this a little while back to practice my burlyman drawings.... um.... and I couldn't seem to find the 'fan art' category listed under cartoons and comics.... so it's here.... under 'miscellaneous' instead... for some reason.... yeah.
I was contemplating on wether to actually post this because I thought it was such crap, but I decided to anyways. Because I'm bored.
The shines/lines got too jumbled/crazy and started making no sense after a while. I almost gave up but NOOOO. I just had to torture myself trying to finish it and i get this... this... piece of ass monkey.
....
....
....

I didn't mean it Cable. I lurv you.

OMG It's Cable from X-force... errr... X-men... then... X-force again... or that those Cable series... or X-men...

These mutants foos need to stay put in their damn affiliations sometimes! xD;

I never really got into Cable, though that whole deal with his origin as a baby was a TRIP!! Ahh, when Marvel comics were still enjoyable xD This is great though, what a way to practice! That angle's slightly tricky to work with, since his left should be smaller since his right side sticks out more..? yeah, and my attempt to critique failed at life. Seriously though, very cool!

Haha, those damn muties never stay in one place for too long. They are X-team whores.
Anyways, thanks for the support! And I love any type of critique so you can through a buttload at me and I won't be phased.

I thought Cable was an X-man. Damn Capcom with giving him the same outfit as Cyclops (MvC2)!

I think he was at one time... (my Cable history is not really up to date)... but all sources are pointing to 'no' for now (looked in a Marvel Encyclopedia, no evidence of it, but it's a pretty crappy book ). He was in his own series called X-Man, though. Very confusing.
Lurv MvC, but my brother sold our copy a while ago.

Technically, The Nathan Summers from the X-Man series was a young cable from the Age of Apocalypse series (Don't ask, your head will hurt!) And yes, Cable was a member of the x-men for about two short stints I think. Not a bad piece, the belts look like they were annoying to do, lol!

Whew, Thanks for clarifying things! I was getting confused just thinking about it.... That's why I stick to Cable/Deadpool stuff... much simpler. Those belts.... if they had balls I would had torn them off months ago.

Definitely, Cable makes my head spin. Deadpool on the other hand, is tons of fun!

I guess so too, seeing how is outfit is blue and yellow, like Cyclops' and Wolverine's, but maybe that's because Capcom decided on being lazy. Damn Capitalist Communists!

Also, is this MvC PS2 or DreamCast? I'm guessing PS2 because it's more popular, but the DreamCast emulated it better. Come to think of it, he was a bit unbalanced, but not as bad as most of the other female Capcoms (BBHood, Anyone?).

Fatalist555 In reply to Luigi-Master [2007-06-28 15:16:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Capcom likes to f*^k with peoples mind's a lot... but then again so does Marvel. Cable probably had the same suit as Cyclops because of the whole father/son thing. Or, as you said, they're just being lazy.

Anyways, it's MvC2 for the PS2 (forgot to put the two in there). Never had a DreamCast. But Chun-Li was always my beech, so I didn't play much of the Marvel characters.

Luigi-Master In reply to Fatalist555 [2007-06-28 15:30:41 +0000 UTC]

So, Cable is Cyclops' son?

I just happen to know about Cable because he's one of the most played characters in the arcades, what with his gun and grenades. Also, I have him for Mugen, which is a fighting game engine for the PC that you can have any character fight against each other, like Cable from MvC2 versus Iori Yagami from KoF 2k1. It's pretty interesting.

Fatalist555 In reply to Luigi-Master [2007-06-28 15:46:01 +0000 UTC]

Yup, Cable is Scott Summer's (Cyclops) and Madelyne Pryor's (a clone of Jean Grey) son. But he's from the future, so that's why he looks older. It's all really confusing.
Anyways, I don't really play any PC games, but Mugen sounds pretty damn cool!

Luigi-Master In reply to Fatalist555 [2007-06-28 18:50:20 +0000 UTC]

So that explains his sparking eye. Does he have any laser vision like Psyclops or no?

Yeah, Mugen not only can be a fighting game, but people have actually made shooters and other types of games using the engine. Plus, it's possible to replicate any fighitng game, as they made various screenpacks, IE MvC, SF2, KoF, etc, but I like mine to just have any character that exists, and I have about 100+ on it.

Fatalist555 In reply to Luigi-Master [2007-06-29 05:03:27 +0000 UTC]

Nope. He's infected with this techno-virus that eats away at his body.... that's why his arm looks metallic, and he has telepathic/telekinetic abilities, but that really doesn't explain the glowing-eye-thing.

Luigi-Master In reply to Fatalist555 [2007-06-29 13:44:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh, okay. When I play as Cable and I win, his "metallic" arm grows into a spiky arm thingy. I guess that the virus kicking in, right?

Yup yup, that's the techno virus all right. It's probably spazzing with happiness.

I see. But why's he say "Open up, for now" when that happens?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fatalist555 In reply to Luigi-Master [2007-06-30 02:02:55 +0000 UTC]

Um, this is a total guess, but he's probably letting the virus loose or 'opening up'. He manages to control it from spreading by using his telekintec abilities, so he has a certain amount of power over it.

Yeah there are some problems with it, but it actually comes off as a really good piece all together, the belts must have drove you nuts. But they came out awesome.

'...the belts must have drove you nuts.'

You're tellin' me!! I didn't know how to shade/shine them so they would blend in with his uniform, and I gave up on belt to the right since I didn't know how to make it look like it was curving around his body. Oh well. I'll just have to keep practicing my burly-men.

hawkeye In reply to Fatalist555 [2007-05-22 07:09:08 +0000 UTC]

Those are so hard to do, the only way I can think to do them is draw them a flat belt on him, like suspenders then create the elevations in perspective. But still an awful lot work and difficult! Oh this was a great practice one and I like it very much!

Fatalist555 In reply to hawkeye [2007-05-23 05:57:12 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the tip! Hopefully I won't come across more characters with weird belt-things, but I'll definitley try practicing different perspectives.

whaha no I really like it. It's not like perfect, it's not like you're a pro for a long time or something, but it is a nice work! Compared with other drawings here on dA, it's good! And I think you did your best and evolved since your last work.

Ah... It is a cool piece anyway
