Aww, poor Jacob. I like him, even if no one else does.

Nice drawing although I have to admit that I hated the first book. I'm NOT a fan of Bella.

Well, in the beginning of the book, I could tolerate the vamps and werewolves, they were somewhat interesting, but the longer they seemed to stick to Bella like glue the less respect I had for them. I swear, I would hate myself if I ever had a friend like Bella, THAT'S how much she annoyed me. Halfway through Twilight, I found myself wishing someone, ANYONE, would tear her throat out, or drain her dry, I dislike Bella that much.

Heheh Jealous? Nah!! When I started reading, I though she would become a better person as the book progressed but afterwards I just wished someone would run her over with a semi and then back up to make sure the job was done right! I know it's harsh and I'm sorry for ripping on Bella (well...not THAT much), I know you enjoyed that book, hell, my girlfriend LOVED it, but I've never read a main character that I've disliked as much!

Well actually, a light source doesn't only have to come from one place, although it does make the whole illustration/painting process easier to render. A light source on an image will always work more effectively when the background has some sort of tone to justify it. It does work with white backdrops to an extent but the pure white background is just salad dressing playing host to the image, it's just a presentation canvas (if that makes sense). It's not realistic, merely functional to present your character.
My point is this, to truly understand how light works on surfaces maybe it's best to shine a torch on somebody's head and squint your eyes, just to grasp the idea of how it effects hair. The hair you have rendered is very nice but overly complex perhaps. You wouldn't be able to see every single hair on a persons head no matter how close you were to them.
It's a learning curve we all deal with. I too hate rendering hair, I cheat by trying to mimic the tones of the hair more than the individual hairs itself. The mind then fools the eye into believing the lies because it associates hair as a dense mass. That's where your light sourcing really helps the illusion.
The facial shadows need to be darker for a more realistic look, such as under the neck or nose. Even under the bottom lip.
However, my scrutiny aside, it is a very nice image, nicely drawn and presented. Very stylish, as I have come to expect from you. He is quite a handsome chap, is he based on someone you know? Or someone you would like to know? And what's with the Harry Potter line, I quote
It's like fucking Harry Potter for horny teenage girls.
Why would anyone want to do that to him, he's so young and innocent looking. Then again I've only watched one of those movies.

hehehe yeah... there was a time were I remember Superboy did have that hair! At first he had just the same hair as Superman (since his basically his clone), but later when it was revealed that his also a clone Lex Luthor, I saw artist kind of putting his hair closer to his head, almost making him bald!
Truthfully I like him better as a young version of Superman, not a hybrid of the two.

Yeah, i remeber that! and he actually shaved his head when he wigged out on the titans... actually making him bald. I thought it was cool how he has both dualities, but i think he makes a better character as a young superman.

At least at the end, he acted like a Superman. Even though that last comics also was kind of "R" rated, with the sex of WonderGirl ans Sboy!
