Description

Hello everyone! As promised in the last poll, I'm thrilled to share a photo I discovered on Pinterest. This photo truly inspired me with its captivating compositions, particularly the cave and its openings, so I couldn't resist drawing it! 🤩

Canvas Size: 160x200px

This week, I decided to try something new. I've always been fascinated by Nop_pixels (instagram)'s illustrations. He was one of the first accounts I came across when I started exploring pixel art. Nop's pixel art style is truly unique, and I've been eager to improve in this aspect, ultimately into my own style. In this illustration, I attempted to gradually incorporate elements reminiscent of their work. I appreciate the aesthetic of their distinctive "comical/gaming style," which strikes a balance between simplicity and the right amount of detail. As you can see, I'm still working on mastering this concept shown here. I'm making progress but it requires a lot of practice before I can draw with ease.

Several elements in the photo caught my attention: the variety of leaves and color combinations, the cave with a hidden waterfall, and the rock formations outside. Incorporating multiple foliage elements in the composition allowed me to practice different leaf shapes and patterns. For the waterfall, I took a stylized approach, aiming for a more comical/cartoonish look, rather than simply drawing "darkened white droplets." To add an extra touch of flair, I included numerous floating lily pads. I initially thought about adding a tiny frog on one of the rock platforms, but I felt that the scenery would be better without animals imo. Patience played a significant role in this illustration especially with so much going on here. I hope you all enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it!
