October 2021 Update: Phaidra has joined the former Pridelands, for a change of pace, the war has heavily disallusioned herself from her once undying loyalty to Jinija. Maybe her daughter Almasi will be better. She will miss not always being around her friends back in Ardhi, but hopefully better things are on the horizon.

Loyal: Phaidra is incredibly loyal to her friends, pride, and queen. Even with her reservations, she cannot be easily swayed to betray them. Her fellow warriors would lay their lives down for her and she would do the same.

Morally Strong: Despite living in Ardhi all her life, there are lines she won't cross. She makes her kills as quick as possible, and while she participates in snatching children, she refuses to see them actually harmed if she can help it, and because of this the hatred of hybrids puts a strain on her conscience (though she normally just expresses this through hate towards irresponsible parents.)

Playful : Definitely positive as she knows how to control this part of her and not let it go to the extreme. Phaidra takes work very seriously but is good at lightening the mood whenever she and her fellow warriors get a chance to relax. Very much the life of the party when Ardhi has its seasonal celebrations.

     = Curious : Even if she isn’t verbally open about it, Phaidra takes a lot under consideration, and quietly questions many things, never personally accepting things blindly.

Volatile: Phaidra tends to get along with everyone and anyone with her MOSTLY chill attitude, but it can backfire more than she’d like. She comes off as ingenuine, and it can make her subtly dishonest and some characters will demand her loyalty to them over members they don’t like when she’s trying to be unbiased and distant.

Fanatical : There is the issue that Phaidra does secretly question the pride’s goals and doesn’t understand the reason for the war, but this is the dark side of her loyalty. Her unwavering desire to stick by her queen means she actively ignores what she knows is probably the more correct option, and pretends to be blind to the fact that she very much believes following the personal vendetta of one mad lioness is kinda shit.

Snappy: Phaidra doesn't let herself be disrespected easily- and her variety of examples of such is pretty wide. Be polite to her and she'll remain chillaxed and normal.. but it's not exactly difficult to tick her off- and she will make that fact VERY KNOWN.

Keo and Zahur weren’t particularly a.. Well they just weren’t a cliche happy couple by any means. Both hyenas had been training together since they were youngsters, and were formidable warriors of Ardhi, their adolescence shaped by the ideals of the pride they pledged their lives to. Everything they did was for the good of the cause, and their queen.. Even their own marriage. The decision to actually be together was more of a business deal between the two, who wanted children to provide more powerful warriors to the pride. Of course, with their astounding skills and battle and in sync strategic teamwork, it wasn’t hard to gain the Adajo’s approval. Possibly, somewhere deep down, the two genuinely might have felt some form of affection towards each other, but no onlooker could really tell, or even care to wonder for that matter.

Unfortunately for those aforementioned goals and the hopeful couple, it was proving incredibly difficult to actually get pregnant. No matter what they tried, it was rare an attempt ever came to fruition...and sadly, the few times it did, would often result in miscarriage or stillbirth.
This put a strain on what was a pair of comrades who at least somewhat got along, both Keo and Zahur blaming the other for their misfortune. And yet, out of some strange stubborn spite- they never attempted to separate, and surprisingly attempts were still made.

Until finally, when the hyenas were well considered to be near the latter end of middle aged at best, pregnancy was actually achieved…. And seemed to be going far better than normal. The parents were afraid of getting their hopes up, yet persisted in keeping Keo healthy through the whole process. At the birth, they felt the same shallow, sick disappointment as the first two cubs passed only minutes after taking breath… but the last one, a white cub with pink skin and a loud voice, seemed absolutely intent on staying alive. She was an anomaly to both- even when Keo mentioned her own mother had described her absent sire to have been a similar mutated shade. They found it odd, but wouldn’t complain. Surely this was Ina blessing them for their diligence and patience. If she gave them a child, after all this time, then they weren’t going to complain.

And so Phaidra, named for her bright pelt, was raised to be just as powerful, if not more than her aging parents were in their prime. Her life was tiring training sessions and mock battles that verged on dangerous at times, but even when the weakness of her eyes under the bright sun, she persisted. In private, Zahur and Keo did show some genuine love to their daughter, after so many years of grief and stress, their one cub managed to soften them a little. They had their own ways of such affection, but whatever such way they raised Phaidra, it was enough to make her sit vigil for three whole days and nights at the place of burial when they passed on.

Now that she is full grown, and war has brewed, Phaidra fights with vigor for Ardhi and Jinija, just as her mother and father did. But while the young hyena does not yet ever dare to dream of turning against her home, she has her own personal thoughts about the cause itself. She personally is confused as to why they absolutely have to kill the descendants of some long dead lion, king of a land she’s barely seen and has apparently never bothered them at this point. She doesn’t think winning the war will achieve much beyond some extra territory. But for now, she does as ordered, and goes about her life.
