Tanabi: Why are we doing this anyway?
Simba: Tanabi, it's important that the pride at least has an official ceremony for all royal cubs. You had one when you were born.
Tanabi: Pff, yeah, but it wasn't like Kiara and Kion, they had the whole kingdom attend theirs, because they served a purpose. I didn't, just like these cubs.
Nala: Tanabi! How could you talk about your own family like that?! I'm shocked-
Tanabi: It's not like that mom, jeez. I love the kids, don't get me wrong, but does Shauri serve any purpose? Chanua? Abdu? No? That's what I thought.
Simba: Tanabi..*growls*
Tanabi: Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I just...I don't understand it, that's all. None of us really matter...so I don't get why.
Nala: *sigh* Tanabi, you don't know what they'll grow to be. Other royals that hold no permanent position are good assets to a kingdom. Your little nieces and nephew could grow to help form alliances, ambassador to new lands, whatever they wish. But they are important, just like you..*licks cheek*
Tanabi: hnn..Whatever you say, mom...
Been a while since I drew Tanabi, though I fixed his colors a teensy bit to accommodate his parents. He's a big grump, and hates social functions. In my headcanon other royal litters following the first aren't presented to the entire kingdom, but there is a small ceremony held within the pride. Currently this one is for Kiara and Kovu's third litter, consisting of Chanua, Abdu, and Shauri.
