Description
The Master of Supenatural Horror H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) in an imaginary Salem (Massachussets), a city that inspired the Author in creating the sinister town of Arkham.
I did this one as a cover for the number 8 of "Studi Lovecraftiani" [link] , an italian publication about HPL.

Fedogen & Bremer resumed publication, but SHADOWS OVER INNSMOUTH is, like far too many other books, OUT OF PRINT.
That plus its limited run will make my copy valuable, even tho I had to tape over one of the pics as too revolting to tolerate.

It also does not copy the style of a three-artist collab. Innsmouth, overlooking the ocean (full of defilement from the stars) and a starry sky (contagion-filled). Three foreground figures, one a Deep One, the other 2 hybrids in mid-metamorphosis. One wears antiquated clothes & holds a pocket watch. Next to him is a chandler store. A true human would not stand so close to a Deep One. Beyond is a street with a steep incline: you'd fall a hundred feet with a mis-step. Multi-story ramshackle walk-up houses of antient (Lovecraft's term) appearance.
This and other, even more hideous and obscene pics are found in a book SHADOWS OVER INNSMOUTH ,a Fedgen & Bremer pub., The company is dormant or defunct now. Only 2000 copies of regular edition printed. The creep on the front dust jacket looks more like Edgar from Men in Black. Every story opens with a pic of seaΒ monsters (starfish like one sucking on a crumbling human skull on the ocean floor,...) and the contents page is bordered with water monsters, many with genitals.
One story is THE CHURCH IN HIGH STREET, by Ramsey Campbell. Nothing to do with Innsmouth, but I appreciate it as its the one Ramsey Campbell story I lacked. His THE INHABITANT OF THE LAKE omitted it.

this captures him a good way. the fact that most the image is made out of shapes insted of lines is very fitting due to how you used shapes in his own work
