Paper Mario style interpretation of Parry Gripp's Pirate Snail, whose story is sung in "Pirate Snail on Broccoli Island"

It had the (incredible) honor of being featured in the thumbnail of his art showcase music video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AVQkX…

So I decided to post the transparent full-resolution version. I made a minor change by changing the color of the sword's handle, since that was an oversight in the version submitted for the video.

This interpretation is of the same race as the Robbo gang leader, Ishnail, from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Ishnail is the only of his species we've seen, as all his lackeys are Craws, so this was an interesting opportunity since I wanted to go with Paper Mario style. So a Pirate character of the species was designed. Since he goes to Broccoli Island, I incorporated broccoli onto his hat and there's obvious inspiration from Flavio and Cortez as well. If I had more time I'd have tried to come up with designs for his other crew members too, but alas maybe one day.
