RP Below;

Eridanus led the two mares across the plain, following an odd scent he had picked up a bit earlier. “Eridanus, where exactly are we going again?” Sagitta asked, cocking her head a bit. The pregnant mare was cautious, as expected from her. “There’s something funny over there, I’d like to check it out. It isn’t dangerous, I can tell. Trust me, I wouldn’t lead you somewhere unsafe.” E remarked, smiling to the two mares behind him. “Alright… If something happens I blame you.” Sagitta said, nodding to Carina. As they neared the source of the smell, E could hear the distant voices of a few other horses, maybe more. He stopped, looking to the mares and signaling for them to stay silent and still until he deemed the threat safe. “Hello?” He called, nearing the group.

“We’re lost,” Elm sighed. “We are not!” Demi hissed back. “Just a little turned around. I’m sure if we go back--” “And risk meeting that stallion again?” Dione asked as they walked, inching closer to Jupiter. “Maybe we should just stay here for the day?” Pine suggested. But the mares paid no attention to him. “Oh, look, a break in the trees. Maybe we can find out where we are,” Elm said, a pointed glare to Demi. As Elmy cantered to the field, Pine frowned. Just what would it take for both of these mares to get along? They had been fighting ever since Pine had saved the couple of mares from the bachelor, and he wasn’t sure he could take much more of it. “Hey, look at that!” Jupiter exclaimed, and took off running. “Jupiter, no!” Dione gasped, and galloped after him, ducking under the low trees. Pine ran through the tree line, bursting through only to find something truly unfortunate: Jupiter was stuck. A blanket of strange material lay over him. “Oh my gosh, what do we do? I can’t get it off! Perhaps you can--?” Pine interrupted the frightened mare by grabbing the strange material and pulling at it. But this smelled like humans, and like all human things, it was impossible to grab hold of. At least from Pine’s angle. “Well he’s stuck,” Demi spoke bluntly. Dione gave a gasp. “How will we ever get him out of here? And what if the humans come back?” “Then we run,” Demi said simply. Dione had a look of cold fury in her eyes as she snapped, “I won’t leave my son!” The mares continued arguing. Pine’s ears, however, caught onto another voice. “SHH!” he hissed. Elm’s ears perked. She had heard them too. “WHO’S THERE?” she demanded.

Eridanus walked closer to the voices, a small herd coming into view. “I’m not a threat, my herd and I were simply going towards the same clearing. It seems we happened to meet in the middle. Are you all okay? You're in a human camp, I was captured as a foal so I recognize these things.” He said, drawing nearer to the other horses. He let his own herd stay back, as he didn’t want them in any danger just in case. “Your little one is stuck in what the humans sleep in. Do you need any help?” He offered, still keeping his distance as to not make the other group nervous or angry. Carina and Sagitta watched from afar, primed to flee if necessary.

“Um, yeah, I think we could use a little help. I tried, but...I don’t know, these human things are confusing,” Pine explained to the other herd as he gestured to the strange, man-made structures. Some of them were quite frightening objects, like the silver, sharp pointy thing in the grass. Demi laid her ears back. “How can we trust you?” she growled. “If Pine trusts him, we trust him,” Elmy told her. “Now get back to the trees so we can give them some room.” Demi glared, challenging her. But no one won a challenge against Elmy, so soon both mares, along with Destro, Demi’s son, were all in the trees. Dione stayed put, repeating, “I won’t leave my son.” Pine nodded, then motioned for the new herd stallion that he could come.

The scarred stallion nodded and turned back to his mares a bit back. “It’s fine, don’t worry! You can come closer now.” He said before walking over to the trio. “I should properly introduce myself. My name is Eridanus, and those two are Sagitta and Carina.” He said, nodding to the two approaching mares. He leaned down towards the foal, trying to keep him calm so he wouldn’t entangle himself more. “Hello little one, don’t worry, you’ll be out of there soon.” He said softly to Jupiter, a smile on his face. He hid the scarred side of his face from him, not wanting to frighten the colt. “Sagitta, would you mind helping me for a moment?” He asked, looking to the dark mare. She nodded and made her way over to stand beside her lead. “All four of us will need to go to a side and lift it off of him, alright? It should lift right off if we do it like this.” He explained, looking to Pine with a curious expression. “Any questions?”

Pine nodded, not knowing what to say with such a clear, commanding stallion now in charge of the rescue. He looked to Dione, who reached down to grab a corner of the material. “Just stay calm, Jupiter. You’ll be out with Destro in no time,” Pine said with a friendly smile. Then he followed Dione’s example and grabbed a corner,waiting for further orders from the scarred, yet helpful stallion.

Eridanus and Sagitta did the same, each grabbing a corner. Eridanus looked to them and nodded, beginning to lift. “Slow, just go slow.” He mumbled around the material, watching the others carefully. While he wanted to keep the foal calm, but also work quietly as to not attract humans to them. He wasn’t aiming to be captured yet again.

Pine did as ordered. He kept an ear out, too, if any human were around. He didn’t hear or smell anything yet, so he focused on lifting the material. It was a slow, yet careful process, but soon all of Jupiter could be seen. The foal wriggled, at first getting absolutely nowhere. After a few minutes, though, he scooted himself out from underneath the material and bucked away from it like the young colt he was. “That was scary!” the silvery colt announced, trotting back to his mother. Dione had long since dropped the human thing and embraced her son. “Are you alright? I was so worried!” she spoke, nuzzling him. “I’m alright, mama! I stayed still and the big stallions saved me! Wasn’t I brave?” Dione chuckled. “Yes, little one, you were very brave,” she soothed. Pine smiled at the reunion. He turned to the scarred stallion, Eridanus, and smiled at him. “Thank you so much, I don’t know where we’d be without you.”

Eridanus smiled and shrugged a bit. “It’s nothing, I wouldn’t leave anyone in danger like that.” He said with a content look on his face. Carina nudged him, a nervous expression in her eyes. “Eridanus, there’s humans over there. Behind that big thing, they’re watching us. We have to leave right now.” She said quietly, looking to the other mares and foals. “Okay, everyone calmly and slowly start to walk away. If they make a move, everyone run in different directions and I’ll make sure no one is captured.” He said, turning to walk the other way away from the humans. “Mares and foals walk ahead of us stallions, okay?”

Pine called over to Elmy and Demi. Both mares trotted forward past the stallions, Destro having to break into a bit of a canter to keep up. “Don’t worry,” Elmy told the other mares, sticking out her chest, “I’m part god.” Pine nodded Eridanus. “She’s right. If you have to scare off those humans, you’ll have help.” Then he waited for the more experienced stallion to give the command to go. He obviously knew his way around humans, whereas Pine had never seen one up close.

Eridanus smiled to him and gave a nod. “Thank you very much. Let’s head out now, once we’re a little further away, we run. Got it everyone?” He said, looking to the others as he started to walk away, keeping a close eye on the humans. He made sure to stay in the very back of the group, as he knew he could outsmart the humans if necessary. “Ready yourselves, it’s almost time to run. It was a pleasure meeting you all, by the way.” He said with a smile, looking to Dione and chuckling. “Make sure that cute little colt of yours avoids human objects, though you seem to be a very capable mare. All of you do.” He said, smiling kindly to all of them as he began to turn, readying himself to go off with his own herd.

“Wait!” Dione said, taking a step forward. Jupiter stayed right next to her as she stood in between both herds, her eyes narrowed with worry. She looked from Eridanus, to Pine, to Demi. “What is it?” Demi asked, concerned. “I-I just...You always told me to go where my heart is, to find a stallion I really believe in, but I just met Eridanus--” Dione rambled. “Dione, do you want to go with Eridanus?” Demi asked. Dione nodded. “He saved my colt, Demi, and he’s so...perfect. I know I just met him, but I feel so safe with him near.” Demi nodded. With a sweet smile, she said. “Then go. This herd was supposed to keep us protected, remember? If you feel safe with him, and you want to go with him, then go. He has proven more than capable.” Dione smiled widely. To Pine and Elm, she said, “Thank you both so much for taking care of Jupiter and I! I will never forget the little stallion and the brave mare that protected me and my colt, even if it was just for a short time!” Pine nodded, Elmy grinned. The buckskin tobiano mare said, “Have fun!” “See you, Jup!” Destro called, breaking his normal silence. Jup threw his head into the air playfully. “Bye, Des! We’ll meet again when we’re stallions!” Destra laughed. “You bet we will!”

Eridanus’s mouth was slightly agape, he didn’t expect this at all. He hadn’t felt impressive to mares before, but he was strangely proud and rather excited that someone had chose him. “I'd be honored for you and your son to join us, Dione. This is alright with you, right?” He said cautiously, looking to Pine with his good eye. He didn’t want to upset the stallion, even though he was quite taken with the creamy colored mare who wanted to join him.

Pine opened his mouth just as Elmy gave a big grin and said, “Of course! Pine and I were only protecting them until Jupiter was all grown up after all. It doesn’t bother us one bit!” Pine nodded. “What she said.”

Eridanus smiled wide and nodded to the other stallion and his mares. “Well, thank you very much. It really was nice to meet you all, and I hope you are safe in your travels. If we meet again, I’d love to catch up. Shall we?” The stallion said with a smile, looking to his mares and now foal with a bright smile on his face. “Goodbye once again, friends. Safe travels.” he repeated as he turned and began to walk off, Dione close by his side as he departed.

“Bye!” Elmy called after them. Then she spun around to face Pine. “Race you to the river?” She asked. Pine nodded like a yearling. “On three!” he announced. Demi shifted in her spot “I don’t think that’s the safest--” “ONETWOTHREEGO!” Elmy shouted and took off like a rabbit. Pine raced to try and catch her as he heard Demi running after them, shouting, “Come back!” as her son tried to catch up with Pine. And with that, the small herd of four raced off to face their next adventure.
