For #FeedbackFrenzy ,
First off, I would love to say that this painting looks absolutely amazing-from the thumbnail, I thought it was a photograph at first! Amazing job on the realism in this, and I especially like the mystery shrouding her, as well as the intricate details in the hair and the shirt that you showed. The lips look really amazing too, just like the real thing. I love how the blackness and shadow on the left contrast sharply with the bright window on the right. The hair looks really natural, I love the small strands and how you juxtaposed it perfectly between being too random and being too uniform.

Now for the suggestions:
One small thing you can improve on is the skin near her mouth. To me, the coloring looks a bit overblended-maybe add some small skin details there to improve? Also, the neck seems a bit too highlighted. I don't think it should be that bright since the light should be hitting the hair and face first, causing a shadow. Finally, the bow looks a bit off to me- I think you should add brighter detail to it so it can pop out more.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed the details and concept behind this picture and I hope you can learn from my advice! <3

Greetings! My name is Westley and this is a part of the Feedback Frenzy competition! I've never done any kind of digital painting so this is a little out of my comfort zone. I'll try to be as helpful as possible nonetheless
First of all I really like your choice of composition. The tight crop allows for you to leave the eyes out which leaves the viewer with a very mysterious and intense image. It provokes a lot of emotions in me of loneliness, sadness, and at the same time anticipation and anxiety of the day ahead and the world outside. Congratulations on that! The main flaw with the composition though is that while all the darkness is nice conceptually I don't think the left side of the image should be left completely alone. It feels a bit unresolved. I'd love to see a slight hint of the light that's coming in from the window reflecting on the wall of the room behind the figure. This would also silhouette the back of her head and give us a sense of the shape and lines of her hair. This would also give the piece a greater sense of depth and space which would make it that much stronger!
As far as the digital painting technique I can't comment if it's done correctly or not but I think it looks terrific. It feels very painterly and the various colors and tones of her skin look great. The highlights on the nose and lips are spot on but I feel that the neck is a bit too bright. I think it should look more like the cheek and chin areas. The hair is starting to look very realistic and is a lot of fun to look at and explore. I think if you spent a little more time putting more and more hair on in various tones and levels of brightness it would really make the image pop. Some really subtle barely visible hairs towards the left of the ones you already have would really give her more volume and more convincing perspective. The dress looks pretty good. I think too much work on it would take attention away from the other parts of the image and that wouldn't be ideal. It's really just the bow that's making it look flat. It shouldn't run horizontal to the picture frame but should be slanted at a perpendicular angle to the window frame. Speaking of the window, beautiful job. I love the softness of it's lines and the various blues and browns.
Overall I think this image is very powerful emotionally and has a strong painterly feel. So kudos on experimenting. I think you are on the right track and with some more time and practice you'll be making more amazing pieces!

regarding to the dress i felt that its the area that need more improvemnt too but maybe i have not drawing good because itΒ΄s a t-shirt and that litle area white there its my arm and thre t-shirt have some design on there so i think that you are talk about that rigth? because it felt that perspective is strange when i have free time i will try to improve this piece thank you so much for you view point.

Hi there, I'm writing this critique as part of the #FeedbackFrenzy contest.

This image is so emotional. Immediately it made me think of an abandoned mistreated child, or someone who's lover just have left never to return. There is an intensity and mystery to this image I cannot shake. The colors are a perfect match, and the amount of darkness enforces the sense of abandonment. The only thing that is jarring, in my opinion is the dress. Maybe you were to exhausted to make the same effort there (I often feel the same). It looks kind of 'flat' unlifelike. (I'm not a native English speaker but I hope you know what I mean). This images deserves better. I'm so adding it to my favorites!

PS: Your cropping is perfect! Strong with focus.
