I like Starfire, haha. I think the only things reminiscent of Star, though, are her orange skin color and the fact that she has long hair and pupiless eyes like when Star uses her powers. P:

does the organic object form stay as long as it can be digested?
and is the form automatic and any organic object?

Hum, not sure what is being asked...But think of Nevea's body like a DNA bank. She ingests DNA then is able to morph her body to that sample. Afterwards, with practice, she can call on that "imprint" to change her form again. Only when the DNA is "new" does the form become automatic. It's her body's way of adapting to a new form, testing it out, if you will. She isn't aware of it yet, but Nev is even capable of breaking down the DNA samples in her to make create new strands, new beings. And yes, any organic matter, so long as it has DNA.

criticU In reply to Faylinn-Night [2012-06-11 04:20:25 +0000 UTC]
so meaning the moment a substance goes into her mouth that is new she changes then right?
New beings?
and i mean does her transformation stay as long as the object is in her stomach?

Faylinn-Night In reply to criticU [2012-06-11 05:25:05 +0000 UTC]
Usually, yes. She has to be extra careful with what she eats. Changes occur more often when it comes to animals than plants. But, thankfully, after the first time trying new food, it no longer effects her.
Yes. She can take pieces of, say, a turtle's DNA strand and morph that with that of a iguana's DNA strand. She hasn't eaten either of these animals, mind you, but it's just an example.
And...no. I already explained that. She stores the DNA in her body. Eating it is just the way she "registers" it.

so when the season changes and there are aphids fly in the air or when she eats salad... and a piece of meat that is organic or ants or dead bugs that are in every food.
and that would mean that she got the DNA registered or something.
this power she has, she has to have the organic DNA first then be able to transform to them.
so your telling me that its only her form that will change when she does it and use both organic objects ability at the same time like a turtle hard shell on her back with a iguana eyes?

Faylinn-Night In reply to criticU [2012-06-11 07:21:39 +0000 UTC]
...Your first statement is more like a run-on sentence, so I'm not quite sure what you're intent is, haha. If you're asking are those times that she changes, the answer is possibly. She is fine unless she accidentally swallows an aphid in public, and by this point salad doesn't mean anything to her (she's been able to morph since she was five. needless to say, she's eaten quite a few salads in her time.). The same applies to meat. Her mother knows of her power and her father is rarely home, so it's not hard for Nevea to test DNA of all possible food she will encounter in restaurants.
And yes, it does. Her body remembers it, much like a skill.
You are re-stating something that has already been determined...so, yes.
If she grew extremely skilled at it, maybe. In reality it would be like taking the DNA strands, sticking them in a blender, and seeing what comes out. Locating and morphing together the particular elements that define an iguana's eyes or turtle's shell would be something she couldn't do until later on in life.

sorry my grammar sucks...
she is a alien right?
so she has been transformed to food once or twice in her life?
hmm.interesting
what are her limitations of her power aside from what she can transform too?

Faylinn-Night In reply to criticU [2012-06-11 19:45:11 +0000 UTC]
No, she's human. A mutation took place in her body that made her the way she is now. Think X-Men.
No. Food consists of DNA of an ANIMAL. She takes the form of a DNA's natural form. First time she ate chicken, she turned into a chicken, not a nugget or a wing. She discover this quirk early on, so she and her mother have already gone through most foods one by one to prevent any weirdness happening when she eats, say, vegetable soup.
Time limits. Stamina decline. Whatever animals she transoms into, she adopts their weaknesses as well.

@criticU ah ok no worries. This did make me realize though how big of a fictional universe this is when I was looking for examples.
@Faylinn-Night You should definitely have a hilarious moment involving that. Like just for examples, perhaps she has to ingest blood for a covert operation (though definitely make sure that blood is free of diseases D: ), perhaps someone who is asking about the specifics of her power makes the connection, or a Halloween episode/chapter (not sure what you'd call it).

no offense that wouldn't really happen in the DC universe, unless its genetic.
i meant for vegetable, so she never change into one of those? or even an apple.
well all animals or most are afraid of fire and stuff is she afraid of fire then? the time limit is what?

Faylinn-Night In reply to criticU [2012-06-11 22:35:38 +0000 UTC]
What doesn't happen? Heroes don't gain their powers through mutations? I think just about every hero does. Flash and Static Shock are products of mutations. Shift's powers are a result of some tampering on her father's part while she was a fetus. I said "think X-Men" just in the idea that her body mutated physically over time, which is possible. Technically, she was born with the power, but it was through unnatural means.
I never said that. She DOES and CAN turn into plants, yes. It's just not as COMMON as animals, is all. Whether plant or animal, the first "sample" will always cause her to change. Hence her trying new foods at home. Besides, why would she want to be a vegetable on purpose? Haha. She likes to stick with animals.
Yes. Just research your own animals and you can find what she's most susceptible to at what times. The time limit varies on her health.

no i mean i never seen anyone born with there powers unless genetic. srry for misunderstood.
so when she was a fetus meaning when she was still baby in the mother's stomach or test tube?
well i'm just saying that i can imagine her eating a lettuce then suddenly transforming into a piece of lettuce.
oh so if she knocks out then she turns back

In the womb. She was created and born the traditional way, haha. Luka (her father) attempted to give his daughter "immunity" towards mutation. Needless to say, it didn't work.
Ah, well, things like that don't happen. She turned into a lettuce plant her first time eating lettuce.
Yes, her forms have to be conscientious. Otherwise, she resorts back to her normal form.
Last, I see what you're trying to say in regards to genetic powers. But even then who are we to say it can or can't happen?
> "no offense that wouldn't really happen in the DC universe, unless its genetic." <
What if next week DC published a new hero with such an origin story? Or the show introduced one? What then? In addition to that, Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti chose Earth-16 (which the Young Justice TV series is based in) BECAUSE it freed a lot of preset continuity. Basically, they chose it so they can do what they want. Like us fans.

wait that would mean that the egg was tampered with and then put in the stomach of a woman?
wait wouldn't she die because the lack of dirt and water?
conscientious? does that mean she has to be careful? i don't get it.
i'm just saying that i never seen that happan thus i assume that it will not happen until proven so. and such like that. ^^

Ah then ok there we go. Option 1, mutation in the womb.
Anyway outside the debating over wither this character can exist or not, Faylinn, I love her character design. It has so many elements that I myself favor like long white hair, glowing eyes, corset-like piece, boots, etc. As for the actual character, I'm glad you did the consuming element rather than just any animal she sees. It's a nice twist.
At first I wondered how she could shift into humans without eating them, but then I realized she already has the genetics of a human...so no cannibalism XD thank goodness.

Thanks a lot, Aisuru. I had fun with her design and wanted to give her something she can replicate through physical means. I adore BB but wanted something different. :3
Oh gosh, that made me snort laugh, haha. But, no. No eating people for her. xD Though if she wanted to replicate a person, she should have to sample their blood. Like a vampire. >>

@-@ what?
"that wouldn't really happen in the DC universe, unless its genetic."
Static Shock and his fellow meta-humans were due to a chemical spill. The Flash (Barry Allen) gained his powers through chemicals and lightening. Black Canary (Dinah Drake) also wasn't born with her canary cry. The villain Clayface gained his shapeshifting because face cream was shoved down his throat (XD really is a sad way to become a monster...js). Outside sources (non-genetic, non-inherited) in the DC universe can grant powers to humans.

To further clarify, she never explained how the mutation took place. You are assuming when you say
"she can't get born with a power unless its genetic"
I may have missed it, but reading over her info I didn't find her at any time saying that the powers were with her at birth "get born with a power." She said she was mutated which may have happened outside the womb or inside. If her mother was affected by chemicals, the baby could have suffered a mutation. Thus she was "born" with it. If she was outside the womb as a baby, kid, teen, she could also have been mutated as I stated examples of such happening in the DC universe. In that case, she wasn't born with it but still mutated.
Either way it logically makes sense.
