There is something wonderful about a naked and barefoot woman in nature. When all is natural, nothing artificial spoils the scene. In this photograph, "The Ecologist," the lovely Lala is between a rock face on one side and an impressive, old tree on the other. Colors such as green and gray constitute the majority of the background, with highlights from other hues. Lala, who occupies the center of the image, as she should, stands out, for her skin tone contrasts nicely with her surroundings. Her pose gives the photograph its dynamism. Furthermore, her soft skin and curvy form differs from the shapes of the rocks and plants around her. All is natural, but not all is alike.

Both the model and the pose are impressive. The only thing that takes away its impact is the tone; too dark for an atmosphere this intense.

Wonderful pose and beautiful model. The texture around her is a wonderful contrast to her body. I notice again that you're using a shallow depth of field. Is this a preference or just a need. I also notice a you keep the model close. Moving them away I know would make them part of the environment, but sometimes that works.
One of the things that strikes me as the nicest aspects of this picture is how almost everything looks natural. Knowing that people live in cities, it's nice to see her looking like she belongs in the environment by not having any indications of civilization.
The lighting on the figure is also wonderful. The heavy shadow really helps her stand out in this. Reflectors really aren't needed here.
The one thing that bothers me is the lack of contrast. It's mostly from medium contrast to dark. I've noticed this also in the one with the girl in the field of flowers. I couldn't put my finger on it then, but I can see it now. This also seems to be a regular pattern of images.

Thanks again for a detailed C&C ... The shallow DOF is something I tend to prfer : it promotes the model and leaves mor romm to dreams... SO is the dark atmosphere. VErytime I can, I prefer that to too much light which, again, is often (but not always) too descriptive

Myself I love details. The sad thing is I don't always thing in strong detail. I usually love seeing the figure soft, with as little details as possible, but love seeing more detail in the background. Clothes are something I like seeing detail in as well, but they can be such a pain to draw.
Please tell me, what kind of lens and camera's you work with and why? I love learning anything and everything about cameras I can.

I work with a Canon 5D2 and, usually a 24:70mm lens of the same make. Why ? I don't know. They are good and I'm satisfied with it. it is relatively unimportant, given a certain level of quality, anyway...

I've heard that if you use a 25mm lens it'll create more of an effect that you seem to be going after. I love what different lenses can do, and how they can effect the shot. I also love how lighting plays such an important role. Especially lighting that looks like it's flowing over the figure and the environment. Patterns that fall on people, to how soft the light are are so captivating to me.

Why is that ? Because she's lovely (in case, yes I am) or because she's Chinese
