This was the first time I used the environment mapping. Actually, I think it's the only time I ever used it....should try it again.....Also, there are a few 2d alpha planes in here as well....there's a bit of coral I took a picture of at my parents house and inserted near the middle, and the tall, well, "thingy" to the right is also 2d.....

Environment mapping certainly does a good job of even, 'realistic' ambient light. I've only used environment mapping for a few simple glass experiments, not a landscape. Interesting.

Yes, Vue has a scene export function but I doubt it would work with a scene this complex. Vue does lots of things (with vegetation and terrain) to make billions of polygons fit in memory and scenes like this really do add up to billions.
