i used to enjoy doing the occasional portrait style drawing, but haven't really done any in a while (with the exception of a Little YumiKaty Cuteness), but Nathanomir and RenderPretender 's recent batches of close-ups and portraits inspired me to do another of my own.


I decided to start with Alicia Dudley, that redheaded spellcaster known as Sorceress.

Missy may get one too, depending on how successful this one is.

That's really lovely Great way to see all the details of your style even better than usual. Love how shiny the mask and suit look, as well as the amount of detail you give to her eyes and the muscles/bones around her collar and neck.

When I drew her first portrait, she hadn't yet fully developed as a character. She has developed a lot since then, and that shows in the portrait.

Missy was the first character of yours I met and worked up, but Saucy has become my favorite. Redheaded spellcasters for the win! Love her smile here. Darnit, we need to find a better hair prop that matches hers here.

As the much newer character of the two, it took me a while before i got a firm grasp on who she was and what she was like. I think it clicked into place while writing the Playhero interview. That's why i decided to do her portrait first. I have a much clearer image of her as a character than i did when I drew her original portrait.


As for the hair prop, I'm currently loving one that I discovered recently (Portia), and specifically requested Shadowhawk use it for his version. Apparently it's quite an oldie, and while the parting is still on the wrong side, it has the right 60's vibe that I'm after
