This happened during our warm up at a competition. Our plumes still smell god awful!

Those poor fragile woodwinds... Β They cry for their instruments, whilst I only have to empty my spit-valve more often; I play trombone.

We marched once when it was sleeting and windy. It was at a football game and when we were back in the stands it got so bad my hands turned blue, and then purple. All our jackets were soaked from trying to keep our instruments dry. After awhile, my saxophone felt warmer than my hands did.
We finally left and got bullied from out football team for "giving up on them" as they happened to be losing when we finally left.
I told them that I would feel bad, except they never come to any of our competitions, even when one was held at our school.

Reminds me of every one of my bands practices. They are usually rainy, sunny, or for some insane reason, both. It seems Hawaii is the only place where you can get sun burned while simultaneously getting soaked to the bone. Although when your school is on a mountain side, that could be a contributing factor to the weather conditions.

March if you have a 6 mile parade two weeks into summer vacation, and the weather called for sunny...You're wearing a thick vest, two shirts, and pants. Oh, you also live in Hawaii were summer is blazing hot. Your band director just told you that there will be one less water stop than last year (which was 3). He also told you that you were being judged for your marching and such. You're also in percussion, specifically Cymbal line, and percussion must play nearly nonstop throughout the parade. Your Cymbal's are 20 inches wide and are the heaviest of the bands Cymbals, and your sweat dripped into your eyes.

This happened at one of our competitions this year. The rain made it look so cool, but it ruined all of the woodwind instruments, including mine... TAT

Or right as your taking the field it begins raining then after your performance you wait two hours and the competition gets canceled. At least we got two trophies from it.

But you've never lived unless you've marched in the rain without anything covering your head, so it's okay.
