But then teachers would get mad at their students continuously turning into cats. Or if you could turn into other animals turning into a venomous snake in class. XDĀ Ā

Oh my GOSH, imagine a world where everyone could shape-shift. Like, "Ah! Where did little billy go!?" it turns out he turned into a hamster and crawled into a crevice on the floor. And, the kids outside during recess have shape-shifting contests to see who could change into the most terrifying dinosaur possible, they start arguing about what the dinosaurs looked like, and they accidentally crush part of the school. And, to stop them all the teachers have to become even bigger dinosaurs.
And imagine war. People shape-shifting into tanks and blowing each other up.
And, there could be shape-shifting related diseases, like a person keeps spontaneously shifting into things they don't want to become, like tourette's.

It would take away the magic of shapeshifting. That's for sure. Most humans are extremely intelligent though it might not appear like it sometimes. We have a superpower no one else in the animal kingdom has. Like cheetahs with their speed or Mantis Shrimp with their punch. We are just so used to it we don't realized what we have. If we didn't have our intelligence, we wouldn't even be ABLE to realize what we have.
That raises the question if species were countries, what would each one be most like?

Why thank you.Ā
When I think of us as a species as a "country" in the world of species, I don't think of us as just one.Ā
I feel we are a bunch of things mixed together. Like we act like a country in civil war since we attack each other, but we aren't in complete disarray. However, I would probably say the worst aspect of us is how we communicate and interact with other species. We are specist as fuck. We "take over" other species' lands. We destroy them. We take particular species, put them into farms, practically torture them, kill them, and eat them. We also kill their children. We shoot them for sport, we don't respect their land or their "culture" or way of life, and overall we think they are inferior. I feel like our species reminds me of imperialist or Nazis sometimes by how we treat other species.
In other words, we are the dicks of the animal kingdom.Ā Ā Ā Ā

For some reason, I particularly like the one where he's eating the burger.
