I have a good description: blue over yellow is Dalmatia, yellow over blue is Slavonia, checkers are a Croatian pattern, and red-yellow-blue is Istria. Red and white is Dubrovnik.
In that case, this is a great design. Can I alter it a little?

Is there any explanation going with it? Ex. why yellow and blue (Ukraine?), why this concept in overall...?

Yellow and blue were the colours for Dalmatia during the Habsburg administration and I tried to incorporate that in this flag. In case of my other Croatian flag it is the same case, just a different layout.
