The overall brief I gave myself is that she was a halfling that got abandoned as a child and was found by a traveling band of dwarven clerics. Probably those worshipping Beronnar Truesilver given that she's called the Revered Mother, I figured her acolytes wouldn't just leave a child in the wilds. Plus I think Beronnar has the healing domain in her lore, so that'd fit the whole healer aspect.
So all in all, you're not wrong, she's meant to look a bit dwarven, yeah.
