I love the Clawcraft in the background. One of my favourite TIE variants.

TEAM THRAWN
Episode IV
THE EMPIRE'S NEW HOPE
It is a period of a rebel insurgency in Lothal. Vile Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have been destroyed by intergalactic peacekeepers, the Galactic Empire.
During the campaign, a rebel cell managed to steal a prototype imperial fighter, which is vital to GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN’s plans to mass produce them.
Targeted by the Rebels’ best personnel, Grand Admiral Thrawn prepares to defend the DOME, the last remaining Imperial outpost in Lothal, that can save people of Lothal and restore peace, security and order to the galaxy….
That's just my interpretation of how the Empire would handle the storyline. Don't take this the wrong way - I don't sympathize the imperials.

and that's the first 45 minutes of the film, rooting out the rebels and watching thrawn be smart, then the space whales happen, the rest is building a confederation in the unknown region with whats left of the fleet and watching thrawn be smart while doing so... or something like this...
oh well, with all due love for freedom and democracy everytime thrawn or his pals enter the stage my alleigance instantly shift to them, would totally join ̶t̶̶h̶̶e̶̶ ̶̶i̶̶n̶-̶u̶̶n̶̶i̶̶v̶̶e̶̶r̶̶s̶̶e̶̶ ̶̶t̶̶h̶̶r̶̶a̶̶w̶̶n̶̶ ̶̶f̶̶a̶̶n̶̶ ̶̶c̶̶l̶̶u̶̶b̶ the Empire of the Hand I guess a long as I'm in this hyped fangirl state.

the rest is just your fan fiction?

its a tribute not a fiction, a fiction implies I'm depicting a piece of story, I'm just paying tribute here to the characters and their creator
and said characters are from either EU or canon

yeah the trusty fanclub, thrawn's dead for 10 years but these two are still waiting patiently, felt so bad for them when they were having a chat with Mara and then Luke bombs the party. (But I was glad Luke was Jedi enough to make their escape as non-lethal as possible)

thanks!
(actually I haven't seen anything but the thrawn scenes from rebels, so I can't really compare it to the depiction of other antagonists of the story in particular)
I'm not disapointed, sure it could be better, but as a villain for a kids show it is the best you can get I guess,
and the fact that they had to pull a forcey deus-ex-machina two times to defeat him speaks volumes about the high regard the writers hold him in: he too good to be casually defeated by the main cast that is expected to win in a lighthearted kids show as rebels
bad story device, but the only one that seems kind of logical against an oponent like thrawn, the unexpected supernatural superweapon, only thing to defeat an ememy that's far beyond the heroes metal abilities.
... after all that weird stuff happening it's just logical that he tries to find a way to counter this unconvenient force stuff
and my headcanon after the space whale incident is that thrawns fleet gets stranded in the unknown regions, and after a short period of time to recuperate and asses the damage he goes on ̶c̶̶o̶̶n̶̶q̶̶u̶̶e̶̶r̶̶i̶̶n̶̶g̶ pacifying the surrounding systems/sectors and laying the fundament for the empire of the hand.
And Ezra is persuaded at some point to be the force sensitive hyper-space travel navigator after he'sw convinced that thrawn really isn't a bad guy per se, because navigating the unknown regions is hard without force-foresight
