What I love so much about this is the lack of grass. Mosses, horsetails, ferns, conifer scrub and basal flowering plants cover the ground. Weed and wheat like plants did not exist then. It was a different world, a primeval land.

my first thought:
ha, at last someone who made a really romantic dinosaur picture as i love it...
since my boyhood i am a huge fan of burianΒ΄s dinosaur and other prehistoric paintings, because he not only painted the animals, but also the plants and surroundings in really lively scenes - for instance a stone age man jumping onto a tree for not getting killed by a wild boar - and he painted in an artsy way...
almost all modern depictions are more or less "scientific", you see every detail, everything has to be "correct"... although many of them are very impressive and well done, i missed the romantic and dreamish touch to them, and finally here we are - thank you so much for sharing this beautiful work...
