Description

Despite being already acquainted with Djehuti after meeting him briefly a few times, McNair didn't quite know him in a personal level. He just didn't have the chance to do so - he did see him around the library quite a few times - since that's practically his second home - but never directed a word to him. However, the purple dragon found a few antique scrolls in one of the mansion's secret passages one day during some cleaning, and decided to attempt to translate them. He remembered faintly that Djehuti knew plenty on antique languages, and decided to ask for assistance and maybe some advice.

Dje sounded so excited to help! He sat close to him and started to eagerly go on and on about a language called holotale (which McNair have briefly heard of, the name sounded familiar), and about dialects in general. He suddenly stopped and apologized, chuckling mildly embarrassed for starting to ramble again.

McNair naturally smiled, saying that he liked his talking, and gave Dje the confidence to go on speaking. The feathered wyngro wasn't used to people being genuinely interested in his ramblings apparently, what McNair didn't quite understand. He had so many interesting things to say! In fact, McNair had to say he didn't have a conversation this exciting in a long time.

Well, their loss!

Ahh, feels good to draw something just for the fun of it, without having to worry about deadlines :'D haha

I have thought on a while now on how Nair and Dje would make really good friends and lab partners, and was itching to draw something about it. I love Djehuti and his design (I love drawing feathers and wings and all that good stuff <33), he's so damn adorable. I can't wait to develop more of their relationship in all honesty, I love it so much already XD

I ended up going overboard on the background - I'm trying point perspective and want to get better at it! It is not perfect but I REALLY like how it came out. Props to sindinero for giving me a really good critique and giving me art books <33 you da best, Rob.

Also added a color to Nair's markings. His rosettes didn't look right without something in them XD pff
