Trivia:
- I went to this link of all canon Warriors names (www.deviantart.com/cheerios11/… ) and used a random number generator (www.random.org/ ) to roll for his warrior name. For the prefix, I assigned each letter in the alphabet a number (A-1, Z-26) and ended up getting 13, which was the letter M. I then counted the amount of prefixes starting with M, which was 18, and assigned each name a number (Maggot-1, Mumble-18) then rolled again within that range and got 2, Mallow-. I followed the same procedure for the suffix, which ended in -stream.
- I then proceded to design a cat in which the name Mallowstream would be fitting.
- The first name I rolled was Adderswipe, but I figured an adder being found in the mountains of HollowClan was unlikely, so I re-rolled. (I didn't keep the suffix just because rolling for names is fun).
- I also rolled for his former mate, mentor, apprentices, crush, and crush's mate's names, Mallowstar's sex (female-1, male-2), DustyMallow's litter size, and Mallowstar's sexuality (hetero-1, bi-2, homo-3), thus determining Dustymoon's sex.
- I also rerolled for Dusty's suffix because let's be honest: the names Dustyrun, Dustyrapid, Dustygoose, and Dustythicket are kind of dumb. (Well, Dustythicket isn't as bad as the others I suppose.) Dustymoon is a bit on the fence for me still, personally, but I think it's pretty and unique, so I kept it.
- Young Mallowpaw for most of his apprenticeship had a crush on Nettlepaw and eventually Nettleleaf, his advances always being for naught however, as Nettleleaf had a very large crush an a tom named Icepaw/Icefeather. (Mallowpaw was 4 moons younger than Nettlepaw, and Icepaw was less than a moon younger than Nettlepaw, so the two of them graduated before Mallowpaw.) Mallow would always make awkward, uncomfortable moves on Nettle, and she'd always either brush it off or accept, (as a friend), ultimately giving Mallow more chances to embarrass himself later. All the while, Ice would be charming Nettle, constantly belittling Mallow in the process like the asshole he is. Eventually Nettle took Ice as a mate, (wow, what a surprise), and Mallow still very much had feelings for Nettle, so he was still uncomfortable around her and mildly aggressive towards Ice. However, as he aged, Mallowstream, experienced warrior, began to realize these feelings would never be realized because of Icejay, so he gave up on them. He was eventually charmed by a cat named Dustymoon who had liked him for a while, and they settled down, having one litter of 3 soon after Mallow's promotion to deputyship. Unfortunately however, Dusty realized that Mallow had never put in the full 100% effort in their relationship, and the two mutually broke it off, for the better of each other, so they could perhaps find happiness in other people. Dusty to this day is still sad about the turnout of their mateship, but she's happier knowing that Mallowstar could possibly be happier if he finds someone else than stay moderately fine with her.
- Mallow's first design was a skinny silver and orange calico and white tabby, but I realized that calico tabbies are a type of calico and that a male cali is super unlikely, so I changed his design completely, (because I didn't want to change his sex), and I'm now keeping that original design in my back pocket until another opportunity arrives for it.
