I went out skiing in the dark last week and I tried to capture the full moon scenery where we just touched upon the clouds in a quick-ish painting.

Of course I added a few Siderians (horse-sized big cats) to the scene. I've been wanting to do a lot more concept and landscape art so maybe this is a good start - if I can keep up to it.

This could be a scene early in the story, where Yava and Stian are exploring some Lysal ecals in the mountainous area of the Sætansen family land (their home territory). Goran , Stian's elder brother (here an early adolescent) is coming to either hang around with the two cubs or bring them back to their parents, maybe for a hunting lesson or something.

I've also been exploring the ecals a lot more lately and I'm trying to write it up as some sort of magic system for the story (even though I don't really think it's magic, I may write it a such in the novel). Lysal is a group of ecals (mysterious supernatural fungi that produce crystalline bodies) that is very responsive to the environment and produces light whenever they see fit. This particular species responds particularly strongly to moonlight. Maybe I call them Lunal or something.
