PERSONALITY & CHARACTER
Personality and mannerisms:
She is quite hard and distant and comes across as if she’s occupied with only one thing; fighting in her father’s fighting force against invading humans. Rather silent but absolutely not shy. She’s quite an unyielding rock and quite dominant as in: she goes her way and no-one can stop her without an argument. Doesn’t really hold opinions and her emotions are quite flat; except hatred and rage and to some extent love. She mostly minds her own business and can come across as careless and obsessed with the fighting in the Vanguard – she is often focused on her own thoughts.
She is proud and strongly values independence. Brave, nearly fearless and has a bitter determination. She never surrenders and sucks up pain through hardening and distancing herself from any feelings. She is caring and warm as a mother and mate, yet not very affectionate. Not so interested in social contacts but forms some more intense bonds with some members of her family like her elder sister, her father and of course her mate and daughter.
Deep down, she does care about siderians and life in general, which is something she learned from her father. This hidden fascination is a major drive to fight against humans that this destroy what she loves.
Type of humor: doesn’t have much humor but likes the more brutal play games. She can be amused by watching others having fun, particularly her sister when they were younger.
Voice, manner of speaking: speaks with as few words as possible which makes her come across as cold and blunt. Rather low but still feminine voice with a little ‘growl’ underneath.
Sexuality: heterosexual
Spirituality and philosophy: “push ever forward, never surrender”
Aesthetics/music theme: I don’t have an aesthetic for her but this song really reflects her soul and mentality – especially the end from 12.44 until the end… www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUlvIq…
Fears: she’s not necessarily afraid to die, but losing her pride and independence is her worst nightmare.
Dreams: winning the war against humans so that her daughter can lead a normal siderian life.
Interest, hobbies, occupation:
She is a fighter in the ‘Brutal Force’ of her father’s fighting force against invading humans. By the time she can participate, it has become quite a big organization and she is mostly active in the battle-group (the Brutal Force) that goes for the frontal attack. She is a warrior in body and soul and for her, that is what she lives for. She fights for the survival of her species and the future of her daughter.
She hardly has any other interests than the Fjordland Force and that interest was there from a very early age. She did like wrestling games with her siblings and liked exploring new territories but that got down prioritized as soon as she was old enough to join missions.
Special skills: her fearless, warrior mentality makes her a strong, unyielding fighter.
STORY
An abnormal childhood
Siri was born just after her father ( Stian) had established a fighting group (the Fjordland Force) against invading humans. The Force had been growing rapidly in numbers and during her first years, her father was busy leading the first attacks on human settlements. The camps of the Force were constantly on the move and her parents took Siri and her two elder siblings along but she didn’t it. However, she did recall the moment that her grandfather (Morten ) came back from a mission, badly injured. She only vaguely knew that he didn’t recover, fell ill and left the fighting Force. As she got more mobile, she discovered that her elder siblings were good playmates and she tried her first fighting and hunting attempts on them while they stayed with their mother Vivanna. Her father was often occupied with things that she didn’t understand, even though they were now living on their homelands and not in the moving camps of the Force. Like her elder sister Ekster, she had grown very close to her father and she enjoyed every moment that he was with them.
Grandpaw’s passing
When she was about 4-5 years old, family travelled south to the Ancient Sætansen lands. They went to see their sick grandpaw, her parents had told her. She wanted to walk most of the long journey herself and refused to be carried by her parents. Her grandpaw passed away during their stay and not long after his death, her youngest brother Morthian was born. Her parents didn’t stay long and travelled back North to gather the force again. Siri was only seven years old, when she first consciously got to experience being in the camps of the Fjordland Force on a mission. She sensed the tension among the siderians and noticed how her father was more often away and had become rather distant.
Her father was always busy fighting
When her father was off scouting or fighting, she and her siblings stayed behind with their mother in the Headquarter, near the healers. Siri was still mostly occupied playing with her sister and exploring plants and other animals nearby, but the occasional sight of injured siderians left an impression on her. Her parents had explained what this was about and she had asked many questions about these humans. She couldn’t help but feel disgust towards them for causing caused death and suffering among the siderians around her. The more she learned from her father, the more it kept her mind occupied and the less she felt like playing with other cubs. She wondered if this human fighting business is what made her father so distant and a frustration began to grow.
Humans were behind the problems
When she was nine years old, her parents brought her along on another journey to another metacluster (a place where siderians live closer together because of the high density the crystals (ecals) that they use for various purposes) far away. They were to find reinforcement for the Fjordland Force, her father had told her. It was an exciting trip but when her father came back wounded from a fight with another siderian, she wondered if this also had to do something with the humans. She got the impression that they were behind all their problems and indeed, as soon as they were back in the central Fjordlands, her father had called out the entire Force to attack a big human settlement near the ancient Sætansen family lands and near a large siderian metacluster (MistFjord). Siri wanted badly to join and contribute but she was only 10 years old. Several siderians died during this attack and the stress and rage that she saw in her father turned her own frustration into anger. Fortunately, the close bond with her goofy sister Ekster brought her some positive distraction.
Siderians under attack
However, her growing anger got strengthened when humans attacked the nearby metacluster MistFjord a year later. For the first time, she felt a deep fear for them. No camp was safe and several flying objects caused explosions all over the place. All siderians in the Force were mobilized and wore heavy armor. She could only witness the chaos and had to control her urges to fight along with them. Her fear turned to anger towards these strange apes. Fortunately, the Force stood ground but it had cost several siderian lives. Her father was exhausted but even now, he didn’t allow himself any rest, nor family time. Siri wanted so badly to be with him but his mind was too occupied with the fighting. The human threat was indeed not over and the Force moved North to intercept humans that were heading towards heading towards her true homelands. When her family arrived on their homelands, she began to wonder if she understood what home really meant and if she really had a home, given the frequent moving. She felt a longing for a stable, safe place. After these intense battles, a calmer period finally followed in which the Force only attacked some small settlements in the North. Siri was 12 years old now and her determination to join the Force had only grown stronger. She wanted to learn everything there was to learn about the missions and the organizations. Her father answered her desires and brought her and her sister along on meetings for the first time. It excited her and she wanted to be brave like her father. Her underlying anger and the painful realization that could never lead a normal siderian life due to humans further strengthened her motivation to fight. It also made her harder and she suppressed her emotions; in order to withstand the intense fights. When she was 14, she joined the Fjordland Force training and was allowed to accompany some of the missions with the patrols.
Death came closer
Her father had announced a big mission again, with a new strategy. They were going to attack the same human settlement near the metacluster MistFjord again. They gathered the Force and travelled south. Siri wasn’t yet allowed to fight in the Vanguard and it frustrated her that her elder sister was. Instead, she joined the camp patrols while the others were out. Several siderians had fallen and even her old great grandpaw Matthias couldn’t evade the bullets. His death badly affected her father and he got tenser and even busier. This was the first time that a close family member got killed by humans and made her anger worse. She saw the bitterness grow in her sister as well. The once so goofy Ekster was now dead-serious.
She became a fighter in the Vanguard
The Force retreated after another failure and they focused on other missions instead. Siri was finally allowed to join the scouts and when she was 17, she joined the Vanguard for the first time. It made her proud to fight side by side with her father, the General, and her brave sister Ekster. After her first fight in the Vanguard, the missions began to consume her. This was all she could think about and she prioritized preparing for fights over everything else. She rarely sought contact with other siderians than her sister and her father anymore. Even her own brothers became distant for her; they didn’t join the fighting but had other tasks. She was aware of the growing hardness inside her and how obsessed she got with the fighting. Being in the battles made her proud and it brought her a purpose she was willing to fight for until the bitter end. That purpose gave her life direction and brought her something that she thought was happiness. She wanted to be like her father in every sense and she was convinced that this was would make her happiest.
Family life brought some distraction
When she was 22, they tried to attack the same settlement near Mistfjord again. Finally, they succeeded and drove the humans away. The victory gave her a boost of positivity and it motivated her to fight even harder. However, the arrival of a guy from the Lowlands distracted her. His name was Tiber and he was very interested in her. She liked him too and he awoke something in her that she hardly knew she was capable of feeling; love and warmth. However, the intensity of the missions increased and she felt torn between fighting and starting a relation. Fortunately, he was as fanatic as her and they often fought side to side. The relation became serious and a little more than a year later, she got pregnant. She still joined a few scouting missions but couldn’t join one of the bigger attacks around the time that her daughter Tiba was born. She shared the care with her mate and felt even more torn between fighting and caring. She wanted to be there for her cub, but the missions were equally important. Fortunately, her mother would watch over her cub when she and Tiber were away.
Preparing for the biggest mission ever
When she wasn’t joining missions or meetings, she spent as much time with her daughter and mate as possible. Now she felt a new reason to fight grow; the future of her daughter. The Fjordland Force was preparing an attack on biggest human city of the Fjordlands and she took every preparation serious. Her battle spirit was stronger than ever, and so was Tiber’s. If this mission was successful, the humans would finally be gone from the Fjordlands. She left Tiba in the care of her mother Vivanna and stayed bravely at her father’s side as they got into position for the attack.
Choas broke out
However, chaos broke out near her area and humans sent a flying object and big vehicles towards them. Deafening explosions, dust and flying debris disorientated her. There was an explosion right next to her and her mate was shot dead instantly. She couldn’t evade the bullets and debris either and fell from the building and got buried under pieces of concrete. She hardly felt the pain as panic struck her and she tried to free herself. Her father appeared in front of her and dragged her to safety while gunshots sounded all around her. The rescuers at the sidelines brought her to the camp immediately. Her vision was hazy and the pain was breaking through. She hardly followed what was happening around her, as if time had stood still. The hazy silhouette of her father appeared in front of her and she thought to hear him say that the mission had succeeded. The soft smell of her daughter made it through the heavy smell of blood and cleared her vision for a brief moment. She booped her little nose and tried to tell her to take care and fight for survival but the words hardly left her mouth as her last strength seeped away.
