Aka "Uncreative Title is Uncreative".Anywho, this is a birthday drawing I did for my godmother, Alma. She's from Cape Town, South Africa (and, in fact used to live right around the background image here, Camps Bay), so I wanted to use a familiar backdrop for the background here, and also incorporated the colors and design of the South African flag into her necklace and the beading of her top. She also loves all things beachy and nautical, so hence the mermaid. Fun fact: I've never actually drawn a mermaid before, so this was a whoooooole new experience XD I also had a bit of a challenge doing the shading on the scales (which, by the way, are aaaaaaaaall hand drawn. >.<), but I'm really happy with how it turned out :3
I can't find the exact link of the image I used for the background, but it came off of a travel site...

On a side note, for those of you seeing this who have expressed interest/have commissioned me, I'm sorry I haven't been able to work on them in the past few days-- been busy with school and work. I'm hoping to get some time to work on them this weekend >.<
