At first I thought “allow me to tell you about some complex feelings” was just a nice reference to the game but I could see that Papyrus’ character in general xD
Your poses and expressions are so good ;v; Paps looks truly flustered and nervous, and we already know Polly is already struggling with her anxieties and low-self esteem. I mean the fact that she came to Papyrus (ok idk where this is happening and I know it’s been years) without her mask speaks volumes about her trust in him and how much he’s influenced her for the better. I mean, Undyne got him to be Alphys’ pep coach for a reason, however short-lived that was. (“WE ENDED EARLY. VERY EARLY. SO I SENT HER HOME. VERY HOME.") But even then, he could still be working with her in less extreme ways on the surface. But anyway.
Polly’s already a blushing mess before we see Papyrus, and it’s presumed this was either an impromptu gathering or she was a little late. I LOVE the second panel. Her body language shows that even now she’s insecure with her hands at her chest and her wings tucked close to her. Because of Papyrus’ not always clear methods of communication, he might have been so confused in his own feelings that it might not register that “POLLYANNA, I NEED TO TALK TO YOU IMMEDIATELY,” Could be interpreted as “SOMETHING’S WRONG,” or “YOU DID SOMETHING AND IM UPSET”. He looks so aloof with his back turned when in reality he’s just trying to get himself together. So when he addresses her in such a serious tone, you can see the worry on her face. I’m sure a lot of thoughts are running through her head right now, and with her self esteem and anxiety, a love confession is probably one of the last ideas she could think of right now.
Again I’m literally analyzing from what I got out of this and from what I know about their characters. If anything’s wrong, tell me lol
