Flaky and Human Flaky together from HTF~ XDLolidk. XD Flaky is my favorite character along with Flippy from HTF X3
Since Flaky is so scared all the time it makes it all the more adorable when she smiles genuinely.
..but I suppose she would be scared in this situation being held by a huge version of herself. o3o;..I think human Flaky's sweater outfit is cute but I just made up this random outfit because I felt like being creative lolol. SO CREATIVE.
AND I CAN'T DECIDE IF FLAKY LOOKS BETTER WITH BLACK EYES [link] I think she does
Ehh. I experimented a little in this pic. I do like the colors in it~ And the painty background :3 ..hmm I forgot to color the sweat drops' lines LOL

Well, just look her up...most people give her a pink sweater and a black skirt -_- I like the style, but it doesn't suit her.
She's supposed to be the least girly, so she should be wearing plainer clothes. They make her so feminine

Yeah, I just hate it when people do stuff wrong without a perfect excuse on a character when obviously, the thing they are doing is wrong (clothing, eye color, skin color, etc)

It might be annoying or seems wrong but sometimes artists just have their own interpretations I guess especially for something like HTF, where human forms and personalities are completely fan made XD nice thing about it, if you don't like a design you're able to make your own

Hey, I quite like this picture, I think you draw Flaky well, and you seem to somewhat convey her personality through this picture, well done.
You said you made up this random outfit instead of her 'sweater outfit.' I think that's actually better.
What I am going to say is somewhat similar to what Tr01ka said, but not really meant to change how you draw or anything, just sort of... Opinions? I guess.
I think it's great that you came up with a new outfit for Flaky. I don't think she should actually have a standard outfit as these forms aren't really standard themselves. The reason you see so many pictures of her in her sweater outfit is because someone made a design that everyone really liked and then they leeched on and you get the point.
I encourage you to maybe, next time you sit down to draw, just try and draw the characters in a new style. You don't even have to look at the other humanized pictures, just sort of draw what you think they would look like. (In my opinion) It doesn't really matter if you think Lumpy should show his antlers in others ways instead of earrings or dyed hair, or draw Giggles with long hair instead of her 'standard' short hair, or draw Splendid in a totally new outfit compared to that blue tracksuit or whatever artists make him wear.
The thing that tends to distinguish most artists from others in fan art such as HTF is that they draw characters differently. You can look anywhere and find Flaky in her sweater (I'm sorry, I'm overusing this example haha) or maybe see... I don't know, Flippy with the same sort of hair style, but if (I'll speak specifically about HTF) artists could create character designs different to the rest, they would be much more recognised. Users such as KAB00M and Chino Machiko are amazing HTF artists, and many users on pixiv tend to bookmark their works. If you look at their arts, you can clearly see that their designs, style and the way they draw their characters have many differences to the standard. You should check them out, only artists that have such character interpretations.
I'm sorry, I wanted to get a small point across but ended writing a speech or something. This is in no way meant to be taken as a hostile comment or a user trying to enforce their opinion. Do as you wish, but never be afraid to think outside of the box, especially with art in general.
I could send this to heaps of HTF fan artists, but you seem to have potential that many others don't (not like I would know). As an extra note, try studying anatomy and clothing as well as other styles, it's actually quite fun to experiment with new ideas and you would be amazed at how much drawing studies can (positively) affect your drawings!
By the way, I think the black eyes look better too.

Thanks for the outfit compliment, even though to me it's so plain XD I guess I should look at more outfits and stuff; I'm so jealous of people who make such amazing designs and outfits with little effort. In my head the best I can think of at times is "Jacket.. shirt... pants .3." LOL yeah that's why I do sometimes just use peoples' art for reference. I actually do like Flaky's sweater costume, but I'm also trying to do made up ones. If I can ever come up with them XD I wonder if I can learn how to be creative with outfits XD
I'm also practicing anatomy haha.. annoying but I do need it.. u-u
Well I'll see, I suppose I'm just gonna keep drawing different ways until I like my style the best. If it turns out generic ehh.. I hope not XD but, I don't want to be super original if I don't like the way it looks or art won't be fun for me .~. that sounded sort of depressing but I think I'll be able to make my own style someday

Intimidating? Whoops haha didn't mean for that, suppose my rambling just conjures up some big, mean looking walls of text sometimes haha. I'm really not a hostile person whatsoever so hopefully they don't make me look to mean or whatever haha.
Yeah they are good artists, and I hate reading my comments from the past because I always feel so immature (even if I look at it the next day) but I said they're the only artists to have those interpretations whatever, I'm gonna scratch what past me said and say there are many more artists haha, I suppose I didn't open my mind enough last year. There are really good artists all over the place, you just have to find some that really inspire you.
Haha it's OK, and I totally get you about the outfit thing! When it comes to outfits I'm similar like "shirts, shorts, uhh... Dunno, maybe I'll just do prints on the shirts to mix them up" or something, I always do clothes that aren't always thoroughly thought out (then again, that's because I just like making my drawings look more casual haha just a little like of mine). Using people's art as a reference helps, especially if it sometimes motivates you more. That's awesome to hear you are trying to do made up ones - I mean, if you didn't, that's alright too, I just like seeing people mix things up every now and then. I'm sure you can learn, just keep trying and you'll pick up some nice styles and tips along the way that'll definitely help you develop the ability to design your own cool outfits.
Same here with the anatomy. I find it an effort to have to bring up materials to study anatomy off but yeah it really helps to know anatomy, it can really improve your pictures and help you develop an overall better understanding if you draw people a lot.
That sounds good! Sometimes making generic or rather odd pictures in your perspective will come, but that always happens when you experiment and honestly, it's good because you can see what different potentials you have when you try to draw differently. Haha depressing to you? That's OK, to me it just sounds like you're trying to find a good balance with your art which is honestly something we should all be striving for. I dont think flaky would be scarred at all, I have a personality like Flaky's so i completley understand her problem. For me and Flaky its like a wish come true meeting someone like you.
I think Flaky is proboly autistic, I have it so i should know.
I completly understand Flaky so shes my favorite character.
For example: Flaky is afriad of chicks, Im afrfaid of the dark, dandelions, and other weeds due to bad childhood experiances. Flaky proboly did to.
Because of all this, some of her deaths and injuries are heartbreaking for me to watch (dont call me a pussy).

Loljk. I know what you mean though ^^ But sometimes I think originality has its time and place. There are times when I can't think of something uber creative and I might use the standard design. Plus it's harder to think of original things as more and more ideas get used everyday. x-x And then if I like the designs other artists thought up better than my own ideas, I'll probably use them; I fail at drawing outfits other than things like jacket-shirt-pants XD *does not have much fashion originality* It's good as long as it's fun, right? :3 That's what drawing's about.
Although I think that Flippy's immaturity is actually appealing in his character; he seems like a childish character in the show, but he still has his fighting skills, as shown when he fought his evil side. So I think of him as the bada*s adorable type. And then there is his evil side XD But everyone has their own interpretation. o3o

Yeah, Kab00m has a really nice style ^^ I guess it's more logical Flippy would look something like that, since he's a war veteran, but I prefer Flippy's look as portrayed younger XD like in [link] or [link] I just justify it to myself by saying that the animals in HTF don't have a set age lol

Furthermore, FxF is definitely not typical boy/girl love. I like it in specific way, regarding it not as pairing, but rather as history of complicated relationships. And you know, love doesn't have to be about dates and sex. There is such thing as platonic love. Or fatherly love.
I figured out why most artists draw him like that. It
's not just because lack of creativity. It's because most artists are girls in high school, and they like boys of similar age. But it's NOT excuse for turning shell-shocked killing machine with formidable combat experience and serious disorder into pretty boy.
