Just love this one. It's hard to enhance screen caps. They are usually such bad quality but you did a great job with this one.

Thanks. Screen caps ARE shit to enhance, but I've gotten a fairly good process together to do it.

Yes, screen caps are shit. But you do it well. I guess it takes a lot of practice. You inspire me to practice. Love your work.

Thanks. I was unemployed for a year and had plenty of time to refine my technique. *grin*

I learned a lot, and I'm happy to share. Just let me know.

Thanks for the offer of help. I might be calling on that. I just wondered how you get the screen caps to look so good? I have tried everything I know, which isn't much I admit. If you don't mind sharing.

I use a plug-in from Topaz called Denoise; it removes grainyness from screen caps far better than any other program I've tried. In fact, I highly recommend the entire Topaz Suite for Photoshop (any version). I use these filters constantly, for everything, and once you've tried them, you won't know how you got along without them.

I also use the Orton Technique (google it); this also smooths and evens out screen caps.

Finally, masking. To make sure I retain detail in areas that require it (eyes, hair, scruff), I mask, pulling detail from the original layer.

Not all screen caps will end up looking good. It depends on lighting and sharpness to start with, but I find I can almost always improve them in some way.

Thanks so much for the info. I will look up the Orton Technique.
That seems to be one major problem with screen caps.
There are so many good screen caps but they are just to grainy.
Thanks again for your help.

I found it on Zach's official web site. A member posted it. It may, in fact, be from the outtakes.
