I have been very busy working on this project for the past couple of weeks thus I haven't been active here on deviantART so much. I swear I'm coming back to you all once I'm done with all of my assignments in April. University first haha.
Few words about this project
We were asked to choose a character we would like to model for our first assignment so I picked Ratchet because I love this little fluffy guy. Ratchet & Clank was my first PlayStation 2 video game I played and I fell in love with this franchise from the start. Sonic seemed way too easy to model so I decided to pick something more challenging. I have improved this model since the first assignment for my second one which deadline was yesterday. I managed to rig it with some help of my cool lecturer but I still need to practice animating him a lot... Animation in general because I'm not good at it at all. The model is okay... could have been better but I'm still learning. This is only my 3rd ever model I made in Maya so I still have so much to learn.I will be working on this model a bit more later this month. Upcoming updates:I'm planning on adding some fur using xGen, improve textures and add up more cool stuff to his outfit such as belt and maybe even some armour! I will also model Clank in May. This model will be used for one of my final uni projects - a remake of one of the stages from Ratchet and Clank 2 (using Unreal Engine 4) which I will be working on with a team of programmers I can't wait to make this happen Ratchet and omniwrench weapon from Ratchet and Clank video games belong to Insomniac Games.Models and textures (ver.2) made by FenriRez .Software used: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop at my university. This is my assignment for 3D Animation module for the academic year 2017-2018.

Hey, not bad for a first model It's so cool that you get to work with programmers on a game later on!Which university are you attending, if you don't mind me asking? I'm also studying Digital Art & Animation, first year at DigiPen Institute of Technology (Singapore campus)... it's the only uni in my country which lets art students collab with programming students on games, so I was wondering if you were from DigiPen (Redmond campus)? Also - I just looked through your gallery, and dang, I recognise some of your old Sonic fanart from way back in 2010-2013 Those were the times! I used to draw Sonic a lot, too.

Why hello! I didn't expect many comments under these renders to be honest. In this fandom not even 5% of fans are interested in 3D stuff, but have to do something for my own benefit too from time to time.Oh yes! Making a prototype game will be fun! I'm at Kingston University in South-west London, UK. Oh yes! Now it all makes sense! I see you do a lot of nature and anatomy. I finished high school of Art and did a lot of same stuff like you in the past! But I studied Art, advertisement and Design. It must be great to live in Singapore! Always wanted to visit. I'm not from DigiPen no Actually, I have never even heard of it before. I'm just a full-time student in London finishing 3D animation next year.Whoah! You recognise some of my old stuff? Haven't we met before by any chance? I left dA in late 2012 and only came back in June last year. I'm hoping to get into more awesome fandoms and draw with other people. Sonic is alright, I have dedicated like 13 years to this fandom and I don't think I can completely quit it now haha. But it's alright, I would love to join more I am checking your gallery right now and I must say I love what I'm seeing. You're definitely very skilled and you show a variety of different styles which is very rare to see nowadays!
