It has been 8 years since my last which I still hold a huge sentiment for. I was meant to remake it keeping exactly the same angle and the poses, but I decided to keep it for some other time. May wait another year or so and do it for its' 10th anniversary hahahaha.
has said so many good things about that old crappy drawing of mine, I had to make this for her. Such little things do brighten me a lot, especially, that I have been losing confidence in my art lately. She has also made tons of gifts for me, and draws stuff for me every single day. I get too much love from her, she deserves much much more.
Who said Shadow needs to be always cool and edgy? Do you really think he would boss his little cute Trouble around like that? Na-ah. I think he would show him some of that soft side of his

That bloody background took me 2 days to make. I'm done with this picture, I can't look at it any longer. I do realise it may not look super professional, I am still a little bit rusty, as I don't use this style too often... but it's nice to learn drawing water and da rocks. I really hate them. I even vented, was it yesterday? on twitter about spending 5 hours on drawing just the lake. And in the end it all does not matter, because I BLURRED IT ALL OUT (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻.
Well, the foreground matters more anyway, so never mind that haha.
Commissions are coming this weekend. I have one week left to finish them all up, so wish me good luck.. My university starts soon
I will make an alternate chao garden for my other friend, likely next week. Expect some Knuckles this time!

Mainly cause when i visited my chaos i always used knuckles (just cause sonic was to fast an tails was to slow)

you complaint that the picture might be too dark but...i think it fits here!
it's the DARK garden afterall, so having a gloomy atmosphere brings more appeal to it

i always wanted that my chaos would draw sonic characters but they always drew just cakes xDD maybe they were hungry? but i always gave them enough fruits that they would end up throwing them away xD
back to the subject...
this little guy is such a talent! he did also a good job with the drawing ;> (you put even chalks there! nice touch)
troubles face...they way his tounge his peeking out a little...and those innnocent eyes looking up to shadow like "d-do you like it papa?" ...he seems like a mixture between a little kitten and a bunny
and then dadow over here, even sitting down with him and giving pets as a "thumbs up" for his amazing work :>
i'm 100% sure shadow loves his chao very much, even so much that he protects him from everything (when sonic is around he just gives him stares and says "don't you dare touching my child...you can't even look at him with your dirty eyes!" xD)
and his smile ;;v;;...my heart at that point is just a puddle right now...I DIE FEN! D:

even the water seems almost realistic...the small light effects make it even glow abit...mysterious waters

Following our discord and twitter chat, I'm amused with the lenght of this comment-- I don't think I have ever received such a long comment on anything until now, and that makes me hyped and feel loved.

I tonned it down a lot.. but it still looks dark due to the fact that they are both black! I even made the ground brighter behind them give it some ort of balance, which again, is hard to do when everything is this garden is... FREAKING DARK.

As you can see it was much darker than before. I'm still bitter about it, because I choose to have their shadows cast onto the viewer, to make the space behind them brighter.. if that makes sense? Since the whole scenery is rather dark, there must be an element dividing the rocky area from the characters.. doubt that anyone has even noticed that just yet.
You think the lineless art looks better from me? C: I always wonder which style I should use more haha. I like both!

I'm not super confident in this style, but it reall makes me happy to see that some people appreciate the effort put into it still.
I mean.. that was the first name that came to my head when I sketched them out haha! The Shadow Chao is just a tiny replica of Shadow xD it must be a walking trouble. It learns from his pappa how to be edgy after all. But prbably fails at it a lot because of its' cuteness hahaha. Hahaha! Oh my gosh! The drawing was actually made off of the original one from he SA2 game! I looked it up in game to see how it was done and tried to copy it a bit. It's not exactly the same, but still, looks similar. As much as I try to keep to the original shapes and colours of this garden from the game, there had to be some scrifices made for te sake of the characters pop out more. Unfortunately. Thus, why the background had to be blurry, oterwise I ot the characters lost in it, as you can notice on the WIPs.
Hahaha oh dear lord, those comments!! I'm sure, Shadow loves his chao a lot. Don't see why I would have to draw him making a serious face here. Chao is like a pet, like you said. Wants to feel loved a little. I can imagine Shadow walking into the garden seeing his chao drawing something on the ground. If I was him, I would just walk up close to it, sit down and gently stroke its' quills asking 'how are things going'. I bet hat sort of affection wouldn't last long. And Chao would indeed get caught by a surprise, since in game Shadow never sits around with anyone.. it makes him look more.. hrm... normal that way?

even seeing your first version if it, it was ok...the newer one is better but the older was also ok (for me atleast)

the idea with the shadows is also good, gives also someone more the atmosphere that you are near them in there company
and the light really acts here like a separated line for the front and back :>

just the thought of shadow growing soft around his chao, taking care of him, and even playing with him and cuddling him...it just warm my heart...I love seeing such characters showing that they also have a soft side that they not just show to everyone...there is something so cute about it
