Description A pirate (or pi-rat if you prefer) shades his eyes as he scans the horizon for his next conquest. Freestanding sculpture in ApoxieSculpt standing approximately 5" tall.

The stitching on his patchwork vest was all done by hand. It took about an hour to do all that detail. The underlying frame for the vest is actually just masking tape cut to shape, with ApoxieSculpt layered over it in a thin veneer. I actually sculpted the vest as a separate piece and then dressed him while it was still wet and drying.

(found composite image on harddrive in 2007. I thought he'd sold with me only having taken one photo to document him. woo! he's in a private collection)

I wasn't initially how well that vest would turn out and questioned my sanity at the time for thinking patchwork was a good idea. It took about an hour just to do all the tiny little stitchs on the vest, but ultimately was worth the insanity.

I'll have another insane detail one up sometime this week too. it's a double figure one with boars in New Guinea ceremonial garb, so has tiny little sculpted feathers and all kinds of other craziness. I like my detail!

Thanks. He was very fun to do, even if the details took forever.
