Description OK, this is something of a deviation from the norm of my other submissions (but then deviation is the name of the game, right?). I spent an evening watching poi and drumming on Clifton beach a while ago, and played with camera settings to see how it all worked in low light. This photo speaks to me - I know you can see camera wobble, but the relatively long exposure time means that you can actually see the silhouette of the person moving within the circle of fire, without seeing any details.

Nice!

I like how there is an inner complex design and an outer circular design surrounding it.

Awesome. I love how the fire looks, whirling like that. Its great too how you can see the siloutte (sp ) of the man in it.

I have to admit that this is one of my favourite shots... just wish I could reproduce the effect

It's "silhouette", but who's counting

The camera shake isn't too bad and low light is personally something I love and am thrilled to play around with. I know it isn't your norm, but if you do decide to play with it, the best investment is a good sturdy tripod that can colaps quick to maintain mobility and (I'm assuming you are using a 35mm film SLR camera of some sort) a squeez bulb or a remote activation device for your camera so you don't have to touch it to open and close the shutter. I wish I had my SLR with me...

I wish I had an SLR... the budget's a bit tight at the moment, but I'm definitely heading that way ASAP. For the moment I'm playing with my first camera, which is a digital point-and-shoot, but at least it does have fully manual functions (and a great zoom!).

That's awesome!

You dont' notice the camera shake to much, and the bright yellow/oranges just bursts out at you from the dark background, great shot
