lol...thanks! I wish I had done a better job taking the original photo as my lighting wasn't the best but I made do with what I got. I need to take photography lessons one of these days. I have a great camera, just so much to learn with it!

actually, if you use your photos for manipulations, you don't need them that perfect. as long as you don't under or overexpose, you can easily fix it in PS i noticed myself that it's much easier to take a photo of a body/object in neutral light and then just apply a scene light to it in PS. especially if you take selfportraits...

I have this dark issue when it comes to trying to take pics in my own house. No light gets in because it's an old 1950's house surrounded by large trees. So, I guess I'll have to invest in some photography lights to get the natural light look! I guess I could always go outside too.

hehe, as almost always you took the "dark" part in the contribution and that's why I like your work that much I like the red in the texture of the background and the, I would call it, biblical composition. well done phil

fensterer In reply to judith [2010-04-05 16:21:17 +0000 UTC]

lol...yeah, I'm not really sure that happens! What's funny is that some of my images start out on a much happier tone, then somewhere along the line, it takes a dark turn!

Thank you, Judith! Glad you like it!

judith In reply to fensterer [2010-04-05 16:27:15 +0000 UTC]

hehe well maybe that's the dilemma in life: If we start out with happy thoughts it get's all messed up. But if we assume the worst from the beginning it only can get better... maybe you should try to think about something really dark while creating your next piece of art - and in the end there will be happy easter bunnies ...

fensterer In reply to judith [2010-04-05 16:41:31 +0000 UTC]

This is fantastic. I really love the dual colour tones. Great textures as well.
Do you do your own photography in your digital work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fensterer In reply to IreneLangholm [2010-04-04 23:05:07 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! Yes, all photography is taken by me. I never use stocks anymore. Some of my earlier works I had used them but then I finally got a decent camera a few years ago and began shooting everything myself. Sometimes I'll model something in 3D, digitally paint it, traditionally paint it or hand draw something then bring it into PS. A lot of time goes into my works now and sometimes it pays off and sometimes not so much!

IreneLangholm In reply to fensterer [2010-04-05 13:12:38 +0000 UTC]

That is so good. I try to shoot my own stuff as much as possible too, although sometimes I need specific things that I just can't attain on my own and then I have to turn to stock.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fensterer In reply to IreneLangholm [2010-04-05 14:15:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, sometimes you just have to find it somwhere else. If I have client and I need something really specific, I'll buy it from somewhere but that is a rare thing.

My library of image is getting bigger and I really need to organize!
