Cavers (also known as spelunkers, although most experienced cavers consider the term ‘spelunker’ too casual) partake in the extreme sport of exploring cave systems. While the more casual sort explore the already beaten paths, Canary belongs to the professional category of cavers who survey uncharted regions. They squeeze through tunnels that can lead into dead ends, enter spaces that they might not be able to exit, and rappel up and down pitches--for potentially days, or weeks at a time.

Certainly. Is it also because she’s a stone-cold bitch who looks out for number one (herself™)? Most definitely!

Her one-track mind occupies her for the most part. Throwing many things and words at her confuses her quickly, but she’ll stay on the mine rails. When it comes to Canary’s selfish desires, such an obsessive train of actions can quickly become a disaster, especially given her tendency to choose the straightest road through. Kanareyka Stakhanov (Russian: канарейка Стаха́нов), prominent figure in the caving community, has done it again. After exploring and surveying the now renown and public Kristall Cavern and Croen Cave, she has successfully found a viable route through another dangerous cave--Argent Basin.

Argent Basin (nearby Normandy, France), a cave partially underwater from an underground river, is notable among the caving community for having extremely small and submerged passageways. While it was accepted that there was a possible way through the cave, many cavers have deemed it too dangerous to traverse. Bringing diving equipment proved to hinder travel through the passageways. Stakhanov defied odds by entering the cave without proper safety gear, something that she has done many times before to the criticism of others.
