Description
Speed/Moodpainting for a current Flash-project I am involved in.A brooding dragon in a dark lair. The background is this way on purpose, as there will be typography involved in the final use of this artwork, but that's for another time.
To think I went from sketch to this within a day, I am quite happy. I had to work through a couple of days of demotivation and artist-block before this came out.

Cooool, he looks like one of those primal nether drakes from World of Warcraft. 'Specially the top of that snout, nice scale-plate overlap.
A little odd with the opposing wing positions you've got thar, but that's not hard to overlook.

its the little details that really make this spring to life. the pilot-lights from its nose, the crooked jaw-line like a real fanged reptile would have, the ridges on its horns...

Man, I love the detailing on the spines coming from the head, something about those weathered lines really adds something to them.
