Wow... this is beautiful! You've captured Faramir's character really well. (He is easily the best character in LotR, in my opinion!) Great job on the eyes especially-- so much grief there...
Wonderful work.

yea it brakes my heart. But I loved faramir in the book even more, he was one the wisest people in the entire book. And he never intended on taking the ring for himself, not in the book.

love you r work

Mystic-LightsCx In reply to Dredible [2011-11-14 11:20:46 +0000 UTC]

actually even in the movie he didn't want the ring for himself. in a deleted scene, denethor actually asked boromir to bring him the ring. but boromir died so faramir tried to the get the ring for his father instead of his brother

Again, you are very talented with graphite.

But like I said on one of your horses, I think you should increase the level of contrast. Make your darks darker and lights lighter.

come to think of it, I think it'd be freakishly awesome if you made a second copy of this with charcoal. Charcoal is excellent at giving a gloomy/sad atmosphere which is what you appear to be after with the graphite.

Anyway, still a lovely image!

Fereshteh In reply to kumori-fennikusu [2006-10-07 01:44:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm working with charcoal right now in a figure art class. You're right--it is great at making deep blacks and lending to a gloomy atomosphere, but it is so messy! I have a hard time controling the shading with charcoal...maybe I'll work up the courage to try a picture sometime.

By the way, I love dc Talk.

kumori-fennikusu In reply to Fereshteh [2006-10-07 14:25:46 +0000 UTC]

hehe It is very very messy. I'm doing a portrait in charcoal for my high school art class and it's officially too messy now to roll up and bring home with me..

But I love the way it makes good shadows

AND YAY FOR dc Talk!

woah what lovely detail, i totally agree with you about faramirs part in the movie. but it just adds to the emotion of the film. god what a great movie. which of the three do you like the best?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fereshteh In reply to NirvanaHorizon [2006-04-21 21:21:48 +0000 UTC]

That's such a tough question for me! Part of me wants to look at the series as a whole rather than breaking the story up. However, I suppose I would have to say Return of the King was my favorite part of the story. Faramir's part really aids in that decision, and the Battle of Pelannor Fields was also quite amazing. Aragorn taking up his place as king of Gondor was another good moment.

Which one is your favorite?
