Aik taking a rest from her traveling. This was inspired by a walk in a little forest a couple days ago. Well actually, it's more of a small path with trees on both sides leading up to some cliffs by the sea. I really love walking here, even if it's not long. The place is so beautiful with its short, yet old-looking twisted trees, moss and lichen covered rocks and of course all the swirling leafy vines covering the trees and the ground.

Quite surprisingly for me, I only spent a little over two days on this, while I usually use weeks with a lot of long breaks. I've never dared painting, or even drawing a forest before. I've always been scared by the amount of layers and details I would have to put into it. Splatterpaint, the only ingredient in the recipe for instant, magical details, saved me there. I just realised the tree in the front cuts the picture clean in half, and it's too late to try to fix it up somehow.
