Oh God, Dexter has another Hetalia OC. Watch her blow it up and work on every last detail until one year later the story and personality is so complex she can't even freaking explain it without people thinking she is absolutely off the deep end.

No, actually, Sri Lanka is my attempt to not be so pedantic about my OCs. I did spend my rationed internet time last night researching her, though. Why Sri Lanka? Besides China, it was the first Asian nation I had ever heard of. So without further ado, here she is;

Country: [Democratic Socialist Republic of] Sri Lanka
-Preferably called Ceylon, as that's the name she is more accustomed to.

Name: Babi Rajapaske

Age: Old. Really Old. Looks around early-mid twenties.

Gender: Female
-Was originally a male, but once I read that Sri Lanka had the first female ruler in Asia, I made him a her.

Nickname(s): Babs, Ceylon, Cey

Capital: Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte

National Flower: Nil Manel
-Translates to "Blue Lotus"

Languages: Sinhala, Tamil

Birthday: February 4th
-Independence from Great Britain

Personality: Seems to be a pretty normal girl, albeit a nerd. She is very cheerful and laid back, and not one to make a big deal out of things. Often described as "bright but oblivious". Don't mistake her airy personality for air headed-ness, though. Sri Lanka is known for being of the first to establish complex modern irrigation systems in a non-modern time, and was also the first country to have an established Hospital. Naturally, she's very talented at spacial math and physics, and well learned in medicinal practices. Indulge her in any of these topics and she becomes immediately chatty, talking a mile a minute about them. Despite her strong intellect, she is a poor arguer, often putting her emotions into fights. Though, she doesn't have a very bad temper and she's quite understanding. It also takes a lot to push her to the point where she gets angry. Most of her negative emotions are pretty easy to read/pick up on, since she is generally a very empathetic person. She also tends to be very wishy washy about decisions, especially in Religion.

*Relationships/History: In her younger years, she was surprisingly enough, very close to the Roman Empire, who was one of the main contributors to her massive cinnamon trades.
Being so geographically close to southern India obviously made the two very involved. They act very much like siblings*, and most of the world would guess so at a glance, but their cultures are quite different and they both prefer not to be fraternally associated.
Portugal was one of the first countries to visit her in modern civilization. She was friendly enough to him, but found his attitude towards her a little cold. She didn't mind it so much until Netherlands paid a visit to her country. He treated her well and they had strong ties, but soon there was a trade rivalry between him and Portugal. She took the side of the Netherlands. It escalated to the point of war, which the Dutch won.
Later, fearing the French control of the Netherlands and it's probable influence on Sri Lanka, England interfered, much to her discontent. However, she slowly got used to his presence and even learned a lot politically from him. Her independence from him was quiet and peaceful.

*1: These are just her associations. I am by NO means implying romantic affiliation with any of these countries, and personally haven't decided who to/don't want to ship her with them. She has had many relations with other Asian countries, but most of them aren't official in the series. The only reason Portugal is all up in here is because it was a huge part of her history AND there is kind of a universal OC for Portugal.

*2: I intentionally didn't specify who is older, because they are pretty much the same age. I really think the "big brother" thing is over done with OCs, and since their recorded History begins at practically the same time, I didn't want to specify.

Any critiques/changes/tweaks I could do would be MUCH appreciated. Please, tear her down now before I get too emotionally attached to change her. Seriously, help me.

Edit: Thank you guys for the feedback and not noticing/commenting on the fact that the whites of her eyes were momentarily green. I didn't have any time to fix it because of family dinner, but I tweaked it and now she's goood~
