Something I think we can all agree on that immortality does not grant youthful look. For siren males they exist to serve the matriarch and protect the pod along with its future spawns. Most common are the short lifespans of the Sirons who are willing to give their lives for their mates and the pack, and usually find their ends when they've barely lived out much of their existence unlike their female counterparts.

Occasionally and very rarely are sirons able to live full lives to the point their bodies can no longer handle the ocean currents, the harsh tides, and brutal fights with sea dragons and the other terrors of the deep. What are left are fragile elders who possess dwindling bodies but vasts swathes of information from their duties to the pod. They are treasured as much as the pups birthed for they can swing the fate of a pack in their most dire of times in defense against a threat from monsters and weather. Tidal Eddy was one such siron whose fame carries on in the Lunar Sea, mothers tell of his combat experience and finely tuned nose which lead his pod and matriarch to new feeding grounds in Equestria. Back before the founding of the kingdom and the mass migration of their future food source of negative emotions. They even say he once fought off a sea dragon trying to make a meal out of his own family, yet its ancient history several thousands of years old.

I'm considering doing short stories of sirens alone, their lives, experiences with ponies and other races in Equis. Easy enough for me to do and I wouldn't face the usual dead end in doing continuous projects.
