Pythorisawesome introduced me to yutyrannus from the game ark today, so I wanted to draw one. Started painting this spunky kid this afternoon. Originally, he was going to be an adult yutyrannus of the generic sort, but eventually his features just kinda made him look younger, like a hatchling, so I said, sure, and he kind of developed a personality as I painted and thought about him.

Thinking this little squirt is at that fun rebellious age where he wants to be tough and fearsome like a fully grown yutyrannus. He actually detests it when he's called 'yuty' and promptly tries to chomp some fingers when he's called that. He's always practicing his roar, which the yuturannus is famous for, and tries to scare away everybody, but the best he gets, for now, are smaller critters. People tend to think his roar is adorable since it's like an overly glorified screech or squawk, so he tries harder, gets more awws, and exasperation soon ensues, at least until he gets tuckered out and falls over.

He enjoys playing with his humans who are raising him domesticated, but plays rough. His favorite game is tug of war--gets him riled up and aggressive so he can pretend he's a fearsome warrior who's gonna chomp his enemies real good.

He wants to wrestle and get rowdy and just crunch into some hands sometimes for glory. Usually when he tries to sink his teeth into the gloved hands of his humans when wrestling, he gets his weakness exploited of being ticklish. He hates being defeated so humiliatingly, but secretly he enjoys it. But no one will ever know! Not ever. (Everybody knows he likes it, but they let him think it's his secret.)

So yeah, he's got a huge ego, too big for his size, and he's very proud and takes in praise with a ''That's right. You better believe it! Don't you forget it!" He does like getting scratched under his chin, which he can't help, but quickly remembers who he is and objects with a ''Mmm...H-Hey! Not cool! I'm a ferocious yutyrannus! And you're gonna respect me!" It's easy for others to tell he clearly likes it.

No doubt he'll make a proud defender someday. For now, everyone enjoys his adorable spunk while it lasts. ^^
