The following takes place somewhere before Season 6, before we saw Thorax as a developing character.

Ever since the S6 finale where the Changeling Throne creates an area field that negates magic, I wonder. What if Changelings were going up against non-magic like Dragons, modern armies, or the Eggman Empire?

Changelings don't seem do much other than be in massive numbers and transform. They can transform into a large creature like Discord, but never obtain their abilities. Queen Chrysalis is the only one with magic.

The Egg Gunner can fly fast enough to catch up to Sonic, shoot rockets and machine guns (and/or lasers), and have infrared sensors to detect and distinguish organic life (added by Eggman after being infiltrated by Espio a bunch of times). Worst of all, at least to the changelings, robots are not organic and therefore lack any sense of love for changelings to feed off of.

Egg Gunners appeared only in Sonic 06, and I love bringing up old enemies or one-time appearance foes when commissioning for Sonic vs. MLP. It gives me ideas for the Eggman Empire of Equestria.
