Description Well, okay.. they're not ALL sassy, but they started out that way and the name stuck.

This was really just a test for "faerie-esque" make-up, and I managed to NOT get copious amounts of glitter in my eyes, so that's good. What's not good is that I slathered a whole buncha color and glitter on my eyes and it's not really that apparent in the photos.

And I wanted to make some silly faces. Because I can.

Must keep testing....

i smell envy! hehe great shoot, you have a great facial structure, i would have maybe angled your face down very very slightly to emphasise it sorry i keep giving my opinion on everything feel free to tell me to sod off sticking my nose in where its not wanted.

lol Yes, it's the same fabric (and probably some of the same eyeshadows, just layered differently) as my Envy series.
I love hearing opinions and critiques because I can learn from them. Unfortunately, taking my own photographs leaves a lot of things open-ended and I have little control over the exactness of angle, lighting, etc. - because I can't be behind the lens and in front of it at the same time.
I'm also past just trying to look pretty and finding flattering angles (if you can't tell by my goofy-faced shots lol), and I really wanted my face lifted upward as if looking and reaching for something hanging above. I do, however, keep in mind the angling of my face when someone else is taking the photograph. (I've started modeling for local photographers - huzzah! So I have to reteach myself how to model properly. lol It should be fun.)

Thank you!

hehe, i'm glad im semi-useful. I also meant that this image had the feel of Envy, the way you're reaching and the almost desperate look in your eyes and your face. the delicate curling of the hand - it all lends it selfvery well to envy I dont think pretty is anything you can try for, it just kinda makes itself apparent which it has here To be honest i think the lighting in your images is close to perfect as can be possible, what kinda lighting do you use?

The goofy series worked well, i think a lot of stock-artists (lets be honest, a lot of stock uploaders are artists in the stock they provide - including yourself ofc) have a tendency to aim to look pretty rather than provide something unique or different, which i think you've executed very well, sometimes you just need a whole lot of crazy for a photomanip hehe

erm anyways, my point was... great job!

The lighting I use is all natural - I look like crap under a flash. lol This set-up involved a little nook by my backdoor. I strung up a dark blue velvet fabric about 3 and a half feet or 4 feet away from a window for a backdrop, then just set up my tripod right in front of the window (I had to smush the legs closer together so everything would fit in that tiny space). It was a rainy, overcast day so I didn' thave to worry about the tripod casting much of a shadow. The nice thing about using the velvet, too, is that it absorbs light instead of reflects it, so I don't have to worry about that messing up my lighting.
I'm actually going to be modeling for a photographer on Sunday who's going to teach me about studio lighting - I'm excited! There are all sorts of cheap alternatives to pricy studio light sets, I just need to figure out what would work best.

This is definitely my favourite of the bunch. Your eyes, hair and dress all compliment very nicely. By the way, I love the dress, did you make it yourself? It fits the faerie theme perfectly. I also love the way you managed to cover your entire body in glitter.

Thank you. .. there's still glitter all over my bedroom, and on a path from my bedroom to where I shot all the photos. XD Oh well. The dress is just a piece of fabric, probably only a yard, that I wrapped around myself and tied in place, then wrapped some ribbon 'round the waist to pull it on and make it less balloon-ish. I've had that piece for over a decade now. lol I don't even know what kind of fabric it is, I just know I like the color and shine.
