as IF this wasn't gonna happen XDXDSo here's the first bit of my assassins creed 2 cosplay.
Ezio fan. Go fig.
Anywhoo, This is made from 2 pieces of tooling leather (6 or 8 oz i think) and foam padding interior to give it a squishy feel and some weight. I sanded off some of the thickness of the leather with my belt sander so it would be easier to get a padded look. Its not as padded in the refs, but i wanted to have it look padded anyways
It took about 3 days to do this once the layout was done. The sewing was hell because i had to align, punch and handsew through 3 layers of leather on the edges, and 2 layers and foam padding in the center. Happy how it turned out though.
The cape will be attached with velcro, in case it gets caught on something. If you've seen "The Incredibles", you'll understand why XD

I just can't even begin to describe my awe at how fantastic this art is, this cosplay, I just... melt on the floor looking at it. I'm sure many people have let you know how awesome it is already and how incredibly talented you are! But I just wanted to say, as someone who gets a real kick out of cosplay making anyway, though they are pretty basic and i'm still very much an amateur, I would some day very much like to be able to create something as high class and magnificent as you have here, and with many other cosplays and pieces to this cosplay... just wow. I can't physically describe how awesome this is.

Do you use a leather burning tool for the designs?

Would faux leather able to do those engraving/design things on the pauldron? I'd rather stray away from the leather shtuffs. I'm a beginner cosplayer/et cetra, but I'm willing to practice to attempt to be as badass this! You're the best I've seen

I've seen it used, but haven't used it myself. you might want to try out using a wood burning tool on a vinyl scrap and see how that works for you

I'm starting to make this costume and was wondering about the leather. Leather is too stupidly expensive for me to go frolic with so I was wondering if you had any alternatives off the top of your head? I was thinking vinyl but it seems a bit too shiny. Have any idea how to dull it down at the very least? I figured you'd be a good source to ask with your experience

I have to make the pauldron, too. And I would made it with a 3d-Pen or simply color it with paint DX

wow, your fingers must of hurt sewing through 3 layers of leather + foam padding.... It was brutal for me sewing through 3 layers of leather on my Altair costume, but wow, thats an amazing creation you got there. I <3 <3<3<3 <3 it

i think...when i look at ref pics, it is a one piece hard leather with rounded edges and smooth coated with oil stain polish...i dunno...

woah,a masterpiece! 8D I'm really impressed U did it all by yourself and I'm impressed for the second time that U decided to match the original details this closely - I've seen quite a few Ezio cosplayers and barely any of them made ANY designs on the leather, and even if - NON of them were this good!
