Well, I guess I should explain.
In Metroid Fusion, Samus is infected by a mimic/parasite alien they saved her life by making some sort of antidote out of Metroid cells or DNA or some sci-fi BS.
From what I can tell. She never turned into a hybrid or anything. She's still human, but some fans like to toy with the idea of the injection having a stronger effect. So there!
