Description Welp, RWBY Volume 2 has ended. Overall, I enjoyed the finale. It had some nice action, giving us some JNPR fighting, epic CFVY fighting, and even Emerald showing some new functions to her weapon. We finally got Adam's appearance and a good cliffhanger with Yang's savior from episode 11, now named Raven Branwen. Roman has been captured and Ozpins position may be in jeopardy. The tournament is finally around the corner it seems. Not a bad volume all in all and does have some interest to come back for the next.

Im disappointed they did nothing with SSSN, not even showing the rest of the team, and they didnt show Velvets weapon for whatever damn reason. Now 8+ months to wait again to see it on top of the wait we have had from her production diaries.
-_-

But all in all, the biggest thing I feel annoys me is that the grimm keep getting built up to be this dangerous threat, near impossible to fight, akin to AoT's Titans, then they get swept up like canon fodder.
It feels like such an inconsistency with how feared the grimm are, and then how easily they seem to be dealt with. We need those Goliath grimm in action soon where they are very difficult to stop even one of them and the damage it causes DOESNT get repaired in two seconds with a wave of Glynda's crop. These attacks need to have lasting effects to show why these beasts are feared so much.

This is just peachy, now we have to bear the unbearable "wait" to see Raven Branwen again. We need to know more.

I agree.

As a huge Grimm fan-boy, I was so excited at the end of episode eleven. The setting sun, and the sirens blaring in the background, and the people looking on in confusion at the crashed train, and then horror when all the Grimm piled out. YES! The Grimm can be scary!

And then... Stuff happened. Awesome fight scenes! But it totally undermined the terror the had built up by making the Grimm into big black, boney, punching bags...

I'm sure it's implied the Grimm did SOME damage, it did seem pretty inconsequential the way it was all, quite literally, swept away.

But this volume was pretty great, I'm definitely excited to see Adam back on the scene.

Well actually, it wasnt the setting sun, it was the rising sun.
Episode 10 started them at the night before the attack and led to Ruby getting captured, 11 had the rescue and train fight as it went back to Vale and crashed through in the early morning.
Thats why 12 opens up with Jaune getting the call Ruby tried to send back in the middle of the night of ep 11, then proceeds to the morning where they are up and heading off to their mission then see the smoke and sirens and decide to go help

Ah good catch.

I always assume it's sunset whenever the sky looks like that in anything...

I guess sunrises are just uncool and for nerds.

I hate that about the Grimm but I think what its trying to tell us is "Monsters arent what you should fear."
