4170, finding himself surrounded by input he doesn't recognize, tries to make himself small below the spotlight of the sun. The world around him is a stranger with leaves that rustle differently, soil that smells weird, sunlight whose angle is off. He can't read this language, doesn't know what it means or how to react, and the unnerving silence of the foliage around him and of the birds he can't feel anymore causes his limbs to shake unsteadily. From beyond the damp and quiet trees he senses the eyes of something he can't see, something unfamiliar and hidden, watching him.

I am super super not happy with this painting, but I really want to do this event and I have a lot of things going on and stressors right now that are limiting time and mental energy. So that means maybe not spending a gazillion hours trying to perfect entries before the event ends. I feel like a mess, but we'll get through it. Hoping the other entries will be better once I shake off some of the dust.
