Description A snow leopard looking up into the trees where the birds flit across from branch to branch. Taken many a year ago, and I'm glad to say I've gotten better since then. © 2008-Current.

I remember seeing snow leopards in the entrance to the Pittsburgh Zoo, when we lived out there. They were always lively and entertaining.

They can oftentimes be lazy cats (big surprise there), but if they were adolescents they might have had more energy. They're usually solitary so seeing them together is rare.

The Pittsburgh Zoo had them together behind glass in an enclosure near the entrance. Yes, as I recall, they were young 'uns!

What a great shot! Them snow leopards are a pain to photograph! (The one at my local zoo is always in a place you can't see him!)

The best time to spot them is early in the morning or right before closing.

Well, I'm out of luck then! The zoo that has them is a half hour away and we never go before lunch. (The zoo opens at 9:30 a.m. Getting there at that time would take a miracle!) I'll just have to be happy with the pictures I've been able to get. Thanks for the tip though.

What about late in the day, right before closing?

The place closes at 5 and we're never there more than two hours at most. (It's a privately owned zoo and it's closed on Sundays.) Let's put it this way, if it's meant to be that I get an amazing picture one of these days, I'll get an amazing picture one of these days.
