Description
Based on the Lion Passant for the pose (well, not at first!) and then for the mechanics of it I was heavily influenced by car frames and parts! IT'S A LION, GET IN THE...OSNAP etc etc.Steamwork archans are (c) to Keith Kurson

omg the only Archan I ever liked was the Bloodred until you came along. And now I'm liking them all for srs. ;o; PLZ TO DO MOAR, PLZ TO REVAMP, THE LIONS NEED LOOOVEEEE.
This is just so gorgeous omg. How do you do these Steamwork pets? My brain melts just..thinking..about them.
I KIND OF WANT TO RIP ITS HEAD OFF AND ATTACH IT TO MY DOOR AS A GIANT BEAUTIFUL DOOR KNOCKER but that would make me both murderous and creepy, so.. I won't.

LOL well first I figure out a basic pose, then I decide what kind of mechanics I want to use - with the archan I knew I wanted to use stuff that related to cars so I researched car parts, and kind of put some bits over my pose sketch that fit in certain places (the framework, the exhaust tail etc) then I just draw in the rest with random nuts/bolts/hydraulics until it looks neat to me!
Then I do about 300 layers of colour/shading XD ...ok, not 300, but around 30!

I hope you can touch up Angelic and Reborn omg. I would be so pleased. Especially Angelic since the line quality always seemed fuzzy to me.

Heeee, I like hearing people say that n__n I've always liked the idea of the archan, it was just that sometimes the execution wasn't quite how I'd imagined? I've had fun with them though, I think I've been able to tune into the desires of the public!

You know, I hate to admit this in a public place... but I actually hate the Archan. Not so much because of it's art, or even it's actual design? But because I want SOBADLY for it to be -JUST- a lion, and not a lion/whateverelseit'ssupposedtobe. So I hate it because I'm bitter of it not being what I want XD
Like srsly most of the Archan's haven't swayed me long enough for me to set aside my bitter.... however, I will say that this one actually like, I like it. Like, a lot.
Namely the wire (...tube?) mane, AND THE TAIL FFFF. THE EXHAUST AT THE END? IRLYAPPROVE. I also love the ears.
Seriously, if I ever find myself in possession of a means to get a Steamwork pet... the Archan will seriously be considered. That and the Jollin |DDD.... -shot- NOBUTRLY. I like this, it's boss.
