Description

So, I was sitting around doodling, trying to find an easier way of drawing Mephiles, since I had a lot of issues with my first attempt, when I accidentally made a kind-of redesign.

I didn't change too much with him, mostly because I didn't want too, but he definitely looks a lot more crystal-y then he did before *and he matches Iblis a bit better too*

I changed the color of his sclera though. the red was a bit too much sometimes. Took ages to figure out what to do with it. After a multitude of colors, My oldest brother suggested the purple ring and veins, like his Iris is poisoning the rest of his eyes (I had stated that I wasn't going to change his iris color because they were a nice, poisonous green, so I guess that stuck... XD)

...also my brother actually drew the veins and sent them to me since I can't draw veins... so... I need to start practicing veins, cause I plan on using this guy a lot....

it also kinda makes a nice counterpart to Iblis.

Because with my Iblis Design, he has black sclera, and the bright yellow contrasts nicely. not to mention, its kinda fitting- Iblis' sclera is as dark as his brother's shadows, and Mephiles' Sclera is as bright as his brother's flames.

Also, a small headcannon :

Mephiles and Iblis are like a Supernova and a Black Hole. they were created by the 'death' of Solaris, who is Soleanna's patron 'Sun' god. Novas and black holes are created by the death of a star/sun. Mephiles is like a black hole because its a void of darkness that devours all around it, including time and light. Iblis, on the other hand, is a Supernova- a massive, powerful explosion of heat that can't be held back or contained. I have no idea if they did it on purpose or not when they made these two, but I'm sticking with it regardless.
